You replied too quick :)

I accidentally was replying to NOT use the wifi patch mentioned by other users...from Xboarder ROM since it has a build.prop file specific for his ROM and not here. I am only adding this back, since I deleted the post and felt I should put it back so others do NOT try to do the same thing.

I think also this is not answer to my quest. But i get some answerbiggrin.gif

My trouble was followed when i made phone call and i put my finger to sensor my phone immediatelly goes airplane mod and i can't phone with it!

First download FasterFix from market and set your location. It defaults to Asia. I'm in Nevada, so I use North America. Next, whenever I flash a new Rom, I use latitude first. You also have to say yes when initailly setting up any ROM with regards to allowing google servers to keep track of you. In Latitude app, if it isn't currently locking in on you, go to menu settings in the app and set it via any of the methods. When I am in my home, I actually plug in my address to give the most accurate location for me. Now Maps and any other GPS app should work. I know about the GPS Status toolbox app. This will also reset the phones internal GPS data, but, I can tell you most users that have reported GPS issues are based on not initially agreeing to let Google spy on you (pun) or allow it's servers to track you. The paranoid types have this issue the most

Thanks U Docmjldds! Gonna try your method now.

I used gps fix last night which took forever then I locked. This morning I tried this method and I can't get my location for anything. I hardly ever use gps, but it's one of those things if you don't have it when you need it, it could be ugly. I'll keep messing with it to see what happens.

Edit: Tried GPS toolbox as well and nothing. I don't know why im obsessing over GPS all of a sudden just like to know it's there is suppose. I'm trying GPS FIx again but it take damn 15 min!!!

I am new here, but just wanted to say that I am experiencing the same issues with gps. It no longer locks. Says my location is currently unavailable. Tried GPS test, resetting AGPS and updating, FasterFix. Changed supl server. Still no go. It did work with the alpha, though. There also seems to be a problem with haptic feedback : there is none.

Other than these issues, everything else seems to be working perfectly. (I've not tested BT)

This is an amazing ROM, but I do rely on the GPS, so had to flash to a Sense Based ROM for now.

It didn't work because it has a build.prop file that is specific for XBoarders ROM and NOT THIS ROM ;)

So even he one on ROM Manager that says it's for "any rom" has the build.prop exclusively for his ROM? I just thought of that...

Not sure what you are doing but lets keep terminology and apps correct. I do NOT use GPS fix. Never used it. Haven't a clue. Use the app called FasterFix first from the markete. This sets the GPS servers it's looking for correctly. If you are in US, then it needs to be changed from default Asia to North America. Next...open up the Latitude app. Use this to set your location. I will switch between using auto detect and manually plugging in my address, if I am at my home.. After lets say using auto, go back to home page of Latitude and then menu map. You should be homed in now.

Now for those using the other app called GPS Status and toolbox, this is for basically wiping all internal GPS data stored in your Nand. Open the app in an area where it has a good know reception, such as near a window. Let is sit flat for a while on a table top or whatever is handy. You should start seeing a number of satellites with little yellow marks on a scale. Each mark represented by fix/sats. Now to start from a new data base do the following. menu, then tools tab, then manage A-GPS state. Hit reset. You should see Internal GPS state being cleared message. Now repeat, menu, tools and manage A-GPS state. This time use download tab. Again, with the phone in a good viewing placement of the sky or near window, let it sit. After a period of time depending on weather and other factors, you should get 8 or more sat/fix positions. Done.

Go back to latitude and menu settings your location again. If your "anal" about settings...do this once/per week

Haha I used GPS fix (the App) last night and got a lock after 15 min. Today I tried this exact process several times, but I admit that I didn't let it sit for more than five min so it's possible i didn't let it sit long enough. I have full 4g bars where I am right now so I don't think that reception was a factor. I did faster fix, then the exact process you just described for gps toolbox just didn't let it sit for too long. I'll give it another shot later. Thanks for the hep though!

BTW, how did you get past evoleur, that sneaky little sucker got me too once.

I believe stock HTC applications don't run on a phone without the Sense Framework. There are ugly camera's in all custom ROMS without Sense :P Cyanogenmod, Miui, everywhere. My suggestion is to try a custom camera app from the Market or to get used to it as I did;)

OH! HAHAHHAHA I almost forgot we could do that :P

So I realize that I am posting a ridiculous amount but I'm just a big fan and like to try to help out/get help. Anyhow this is a link to the thread for an amazing mod/app. O install mount/system in cwm before flashing. I use the ES center mod. There is also a volume button skip hack on the same repository as the center mod. Again that one requires that you mount system.

Thanks for the awesome Beta TRIP ! ! ! ! Very much appreciated. Only a few bugs that i found. The obvious lockscreen theme issue, BT music streaming is a no-go, Screen alignment( No big deal ), and the worst bug is the sms bug. At First It just wouldnt let me send to somebody not in my contacts but not it force closes anytime i go to compose a message. It almost makes the rom unusable but MIUI is so good i cant get rid of it lol i do use go sms but its not the same. I know im missing something but i forgot lol otherwise very good rom. Any ETA on a fix for some of the bugs previously mentioned ????

EDIT - The Wifi hotspot was the bug i couldnt remember but its in the OP so trip obviously trying to fix it :P

For GPS that doesn't matter much as GPS is searching for clear sight of satellites in space even if there are too many dense clouds you might not get a GPS lock. It's really best if you're outside on a clear day when trying to get a GPS fix.

It does work most of the time when you're inside, but it just helps to have a clear view of the sky the first couple of times.

Like many of us, we are hopping between XDA and here, to help out. So If I post something here that was obviously stated here already, I will give an advance applogy.

OK...as I come across tidbits, I will just post them. Messaging app will leave a generic icon for yourself since it doesn't recognize your own number. Go to call settings, additional settings and then in my phone number, put in your number. I saw this posted a while back but can't remember who posted to give the credit too. So if it's "you", go ahead and take a bow. Just reposting for everyone.

Sorry Doc!!! I thought that was you that applied that lockscreen and got locked out. My Bad! oops eek! It was Dom. Anyhow, don't ever apply that lockscreen or it'll be trouble... thanks again for all the advice/info!

i'm curious if anyone is experiencing the following bug:

often times when i press the power/unlock button on my phone the screen doesn't turn on right away. sometimes it will take a few seconds, sometimes it will come on right away, other times it won't come on at all. the capacitive buttons do light up but the screen stays off and you obviously can't unlock the phone. there have also been a couple times when i will get an incoming call and the screen doesn't come on causing me to miss the call. this happened both in the alpha build and the new beta. did a full wipe both times. i haven't seen anyone else post about this though.

the other bugs i can live with, but as i use my phone all day for work not being able to take calls makes it a no go for me.

this doesn't happen on stock or other sense based roms, obviously, nor the cm7 alpha kmobs released the other day.

This is not an option in MIUI, only CM7. I got it to recognize my old sim that used to be in my iphone before I sold it, but since I got my new one it doesn't recognize my number on MIUI. Maybe Trip can port that option over to his build of MIUI from CM7. I just checked for like 5 minutes to see if I could find the additional settings/My number option but not there. :D Too bad.

I don't use ROM Manager. Plus how many times have any of us seen FAQ's with out of date posting, or incorrect posting etc etc.

I haven't seen that bug in this build personally but in myt4g it is something that happens in occasion with miui. I'm thinking it's a china thing not a Trip thing.
