I did. If it was supposed to fix gps. I'm holding my glacier right beside it and that thing locked in 1.2 sec. I'm still waiting for this phone....

gos is locking super fast now. Took a sec but now after I turn off and on it grabs location quick. Nice!.

Well I didn't have mms issue since I flashed the rom and while my phone was plugged in, pushed my wifi calling and mms files with adb. I just stated doing that as standard procedure with this rom since I'm a yankee. But GPS problem solved here!

please help with gps

I have GPS working 100%. Have NOT read the last three pages so appolgy if this is repeat.

1. Download fasterfix from market

I am in US, Henderson Nevada, so this is for USA. Euro users set server accordingly to location. For US choose North America and Go.

2. Download GPS Status and tool box.

After install, go to settings menu of app and tools, and Manage A-GPS state. From here RESET. Then go back in and choose to Download from same location as reset. NOW..most important, set your phone down in a known location on a flat surface that has in the past worked for GPS. Normally outside or near a window. Go grab some coffee. Have a beer. Whatever. Leave it sit for a min.of 10 minutes to lock in on Satellites. I get 9/9 Fix and Satellites in my house. When it locks in, the whole screen loads up more info, including your Latitude and Long. info.

3. Now, Go to Latitude app, assuming you already downloaded installed Google Maps. Allow the app to log in so to speak. You should see your location.

4. Test by opening up Navigation app and choose something to Navigate to. I did this and the familiar Navigation lady started talking in 5 seconds :)

PS...before I did this, I only saw ONE Satellite at best in the setup for GPS Status.Sorry Raycaster3....with FasterFix it uses the north-america.pool.ntp.org server. Trip default had the 0.added infront of north-america. Not sure if server was the only issue. I do know that THIS works for me. No reboot needed. Just follow the directions....

I got a real stupid question..

When I installed the ROM for the first time. When I press the power button that im at the UNLOCK screen. every time i pressed the unlock BAR it would highlight in a nice blue color......it stopped doing that. How do i get it to light up that way again every time I slide it down to unlock?

By the way from2B I had backed up my contacts and apps, I restored them to 3B and i had no issues at all.

Now GPS...still the same thing. Im in Miami Fl, takes forever to get GPS lock. As a matter of fact the ONLY way to get GPS LOCK is using GPS STATUS which is annoying...is there a fix for this?

See my long reply. Yes, you use GPS status, besides resetting GPS server for location. But you only need to do this once. Fixed. That's all. No big deal.

I follow those directions and did the changes to the build.prop Trip just posted and it locks in like 2-5 sec for me now as well.

Well boys I'm out. Headed to Lake powell in like 3 hrs. til monday so try not to miss me too much. I'll check a bit tomorrow on the road but I'm gonna be unplugged while I'm on the lake. Trip, you're beast. Doc thanks for all the tips!

Still getting the force close issue with the launcher if I try to install apps :(

Other than that, it seems to be working well!

I have NO FC's with launcher or installing apps. I routinely use a wipe utility for cleaning up and formatting prior to flashing any ROM. I would suggest a redo, maybe.

I have to use gps status everytime in order to get a lock. Usually takes like 3-4 min or less. Not too fast, but it does work and navigation works too.

Try my longer reply. I did this once. I get a solid lock all the time

on older beta, backup apps and sytem prefs. and once flashed and on latest, in backup it will only show the system prefs. wont show up apps so i cant backup apps. bummer.

I think you guys have issues because of methodology of wiping prior to flashing this ROM. My backup works and I have BOTH System Data and User Apps and Data. I am currently restoring my apps as I type this. Use the wipe utility I linked in another post.

No, it does NOT touch your SD card, so it will leave your files etc on the card.It just properly formats the partitions and also formats them for EXT4 at same time, which is how our sensations work. DON'T USE THAT. It broke my prior setup. I posted a method to have GPS working and I have zero issues. Search for my reply on using faster fix and gps staus. Doing this ONCE and all works all the time.

Found a bug. Not sure if it has been reported.

When you connect USB and mount USB storage I get a Theme manager FC error.

Any one able to replicate this?

I dont recall having this bug in 2B

Duh....because it can't read your Themes if your SD card is mounted. DO NOT mount when using Theme Manager. That's by design. Kind of like having USB mounted, then trying to use a file manager or Gallery to look at pix. Won't work :blink:

In the exact same order as they were in your desktop layout? Because I got everything else to restore just not desktop layout... no big deal though I got it handled now. Btw the build.prop changes trip posted are the key to one-eyed Willy as they say in the goonies movie. Haha later

All those FC are language problem, set problem to English and all FC gone. Think i'm removing the multi language again, i'm sick of seeing those messages of FC here, you want multi-language yourselfs. I saw someone with faux kernel and GPS problem. That kernel is not on the rom, so cant help you.

Trip, not using any custom kernel. All stock here. Defaults English on initial install here. No FC's at all. Used Gps Status ONCE to setup the phone and it locks 100% of time from then on. I have not tried alternate mms.apk yet but I do have the small MMS bug. Only question is your build.prop I believe has product model as HTC Pyramid instead of the HTC Sensation 4g or Sensation z710a for Euro models. Not sure that makes a difference for others, bu I had to edit and change HTC Pyramid to HTC Sensation 4G. I also edit fingerprint reference that has Europe in it to tmous instead.

I HAD TO do this in order for T-Mobile TV, one of the add on fluff bloat stuff most users delete, to properly install. If the app thinks you are using a Euro model, it fails the install with a generic message the application is not intended for your model. I discovered this a long time ago and routinely change these. Just an FYI.I might have left out one or two others, but anything with Europe in the file kills the install. TMobile owed me for not crediting my account correctly, so they basically gave me use of the app for a year. It's a $12.95 /month app, so I really wanted to keep using it B)

TRIP COMIN THROUGH AGAIN!!!

I routinely add that to build.prop. I did NOT initially add because I wanted to run stock per orders from Trip. My only edit was changing model to HTC Sensation 4G and killing references to Europe. Guess I will add those lines now to, since we have it OKed.

Have fun. I'm happy I waited to see all the issues. Being first is fine, but when there are issues, sometimes it helps holding off a few hours and seeing all the bumps and grinds. Then fixing or seeing how to help others :)

I did NOT install any system stuff. Just ran the backup of apps. Wasn't sure if this would act like the older Titanium Backup did a long time ago or when user restore applications and system data, which may NOT work on a newer ROM.
