Just tried that, still force closing. Only way I can figure out how to solve it is a reflash. This is happening to me on 002B and 003B.

I figured out a way to stop the force closing.

If you go to task manager (hold down home button), then select tasks. Select launcher. Then click on Clear Data. This will make your launcher stock, but at least you don't have to go back to a back-up or reflash.

On a side note, I still get the FC-loop bug. I'm using English [uS] as my language. It happens only during the installation of software. It last happened during the installation of the Amazon Free App of the Day (Print app).

I installed Mozzy Mail to get around the Mail causing the launcher FC loop. I tried to push the older version of mail, but I think the FC-loop has more to do with with the additional security file that it installs rather than the mail itself. I could be wrong though. But it seems when the exchange server asks me to install the additional security, that's when the FC-loop occurs.

As others have said, looking forward to getting MIUI Backup fixed. But until that is fixed, I used Titantium to back-up launcher with everything set it up. I'm waiting for the next FC-loop to see if I can just restore that back-up so I don't have to spend 10 minutes. I know it'll happen eventually, but I don't want to just try restoring it for testing's sake. hehehe. I hope you all don't mind. But if someone else wants to try that, please be my guest and report back.

I only ran into this issue when using the MIUI backup to restore the launcher. If you clear the launcher data (Settings -> Application -> Manage Application -> All -> Launcher -> Clear data) then it should make the error go away. When I started getting the error, I had to remove all the applications I installed (I uninstalled through adb) and then I was able to clear data from the Launcher.

thanks... i'll try it again. i didnt do any type of restore, it was all a fresh flash. it had fc'd so much, i had to turn the phone off and nandroid back to cm7

CWM and choose zip from sd this must be the first before rom install!

This make for you fully wipe as ext4!

another great update coming soon. i hope this one will put my gps and location issue to rest. have no force closure's with the launcher or backup bug or mms problems, just my gps/location refuses to work. tried ever remedy out there to no avail.

Thanks Trip for this awesome ROM. Why xda don't accept your work over there? This really annoy me. Is this a personal thing between you and them or they don't want miui port? I am really nosy and I want to know. By the way I want to pass you lib for Arabic support read and write. Your rom on my phone and the Arabic works good. When you release I am gonna pass it to you if you want to add it to the topic. I just need to test before I sent it.

Welp, I tried to install FasterFix and I entered the beloved FC-loop. I tried to restore the launcher I backed up with Titanium. No dice, still FC'd. I went into the task manager and cleared the Launcher Data. I then un-installed FasterFix (after doing the North America fix). I then went into Titanium and was able to restore my layout (minus the widgets). 3-widgets is nothing compared to setting all the folders up.

I really hate what this rom has done to me :\ I've grown so addicted to the interface and everything in this rom that I cannot go back to CM7 or anything Sense. I started downloading CM7 again earlier to see if I had maybe changed my mind, but canceled the download halfway through because I cannot be without the SMS app in this rom (the popups are amaazing and there are ZERO standalone apps in the market that can replicate it), or the cleanliness of the Phone/ Dialer app, or the overall smoothness of everything. It's pretty f'kin amazing. Great job.

Only things I'm really looking forward to is the upgrading of the camera interface to the ones found in other MIUI roms and of course the gps fix and some T-Mobile Wifi Calling inclusion. But even if those never happened, this would still be my daily :)

That one is oc'd and none functional bluetooth. If oc is more then 1.3 or 1.5 for the xe kernel its a no-go. Also the gpu overclock more then 25mhz is no-go

I tried installing BeWeather from the market and it started force closing on me. After a reflash of the ROM, I installed everything from backup and it worked fine, then after I installed the WiFi calling apk, the force closes began again. I added the WiFi calling apk to the ROM, reflashed. All was good, actually, the WiFi calling started working without making any changes to the build.prop. I reinstalled all apps from backup and I am running fine now. Very strange. About to leave for the airport so probably won't be playing around much more till Sunday evening.

I found an apk googling and it runs no problems for me. Well, it just said not licensed. I was expecting that. But it did install without any FC. it was version 1.09

If all the posts regarding having GPS running didn't help, I would almost bet the farm installing the update won't make any difference. It should work, at least after running the apps I mentioned to lock it in. Are you sure you are NOT saying NO when google servers ask to OK you providing information. Some paranoid types believe they do not need to do this. If you decline, then GPS will NOT work. I ran into a stubborn user a while back that absolutely refused to believe me or to say yes to google spying on him so to speak. He finally gave in and guess what...GPS locked in. Not saying you haven't done this, but have to at least ask, since this has come up more often than I can remeber especially when it's just one user or so that is saying he cannot get a lock. I have to ask, when you run the GPS status tool box app, and with the delete under mange A-GPS state, then immediately download new gps data, then let it sit on a table top in view of a window...do you get approx 6-9 satellites fixed, with your latitude and longitude info in the bottom 1/3 of the page with the GPS 360 circle etc. If you do NOT get Satellites here fixed and locked in, then something is wrong with your setup. Sorry for being anal about this. Just want to make sure you havent overlooked something is all. I used to see a lot of your issues when doing support on the Nexus One Forums. This fix was basically "invented" by one of the team douche Cyanogen team members, There is a longer version that requires you to pull the battery out I believe when first deleting the data. You would shutdown after the delete, pull battery. Wait a few minutes. Replace battery. Go back to the app, and NOW choose download. Then rotate the phone in each axis. Think of this as a three dimensional grid. Rotate win a flat circle, then rotate as if the centerpoint is in the center of the phone, so that you are actually spinning the phone so to speak. I know...sounds like hocus pocus, but this was a means to fix the Nexus one's I believe back in early CM5 or CM6 days. After rotating, put the phone down. Go have a drink. Leave it alone for 10 minutes with a position that sees the outside sky. Those Satellites HAVE to start showing up now. When you have the 6-9 fixes, then go to the Latitude app and sign in again, Then maps, Navigation. End of rant B) Good luck ;)
