That one is oc'd and none functional bluetooth. If oc is more then 1.3 or 1.5 for the xe kernel its a no-go. Also the gpu overclock more then 25mhz is no-go

Ok still kinda of a newb didnt think that through..

hope this version has native big mms. and miui backup is fixed. :)

Not sure MIUI backup is even on Trips plate. If it's fixed it may have been a bug with the base version of MIUI he is using, But for the MMS. I made it soooooeasy for you. When you wipe or whatever you are doing for the Rom install, that mms.apk file is on your SD card already that I posted. All you have to do is just one time click on the file from file explorere and install. No ADB pushing. NO permissions changing. Takes all of 2 seconds really not a big issuer anymore. I know you keep saying you want it done natively, but unless Trip modifies a ROM setup radically by changing out an apk from the stock version, I doubt it will happen. Almost all developers on the Sense roms offered not only the rom install, but then offered their hodge podge of themes or kernels, or add ons etc mods on the second pages etc, and I may be wrong but that may be the way this is going to be handled. MMS file sizes has been an issue on almost every ROM I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Not all, but at least comparing here with the Nexus ONE I remember MMS has always been a hit or miss. Also, the fact I mentioned I combined the APN file as one, via deleting the original two references and then using just one. THat too could be a part of this. Not sure Trip would alter this aspect either, even if it was proven to be a part of the issue. I thnk it helps to only use a single file. But I don't think there will be a consensus here on that.

It takes more than faster fix. All that does is set the GPS servers closest to you. It doesn't necessarily get your GPS to magically work. I'm in Henderson Nevada and would normally use north-america. To prove a point that this really is only a small part of the equation, I just set this to lock in to Korea. Hepost-651740-0-59029400-1316243801_thumb.re is a screen shot I posting. I was getting anywhere from 7/7 to 10/10 fix/Satellite locks using Korea.Fluctuating between 9 and 14m accuracy and these show 7 and 8 Satellites locked. Couldn't catch the 10/10 here but I was getting it. It's more dependent on GPS status tool box app that I prefer. There are others. But this app can delete the internal referenced files stored in your hardware via a reset, then uses a new download with fresh info to store locally again. Once you have at least 5 Satellites showing here as a min., that is usually good enough to go to Latitude and set your location automatically or manually. Sometimes it helps to sign OUT of Latititude, then sign back in. If you blink, you will miss it asking when logging back on if you want to increase the accuracy of GPS. Then if you got to settings from that screen, it will bring you to the locations tab using the same thing as Menus hardware button, Personal Tab, scroll down third from the bottom and you will see Location settings. Open that tab up and make sure you check use WLAN networks, Use GPS, Auto GPS Positioning. The last tab is the same thing as the faster Fix...it chooses the NTP server address. Again, in Nevada, I am getting extremely fast and accurate locks using Korea, of all things. So Faster Fix which is only your GPS server configuration is really of least importance. Kind of like choosing different servers when doing a speedtest to check your data connection and different servers will yield different results. Sometimes the farthest server is just better on a given test :)

Ok boys and girls, I am giving a GPS test tomorrow morning...6am sharp. Bring your #2 lead pencils and be prepared

EDIT: I was looking for this on MIUI and just found this. From this last location, intentionally uncheck Use WLAN networks for a second. Now recheck it. THIS forces that Google sign your life away blurb I mentioned in prior posts. This is CRITICAL you answer YES. If you answer NO, then this is a good reason why your GPS doesn't work.....

Great rom as always, thanks for the release. Some bugs I noticed with latest release.

1) On they new keyboard, when you go to the symbols screen the & keys shows as &

2) Some UI elements spacing seems messed up. A good example is the edit theme settings button on bottom on main screen of theme manager.

3) Toggle switch UI elements no longer have text for on/off. Intentional?

it would be wonderful if these bugs can be fixed in the upcoming update ^.^ this ROM is dope! and i'm always stoked for the new updates :D

btw you're getting these updates out like a champ man, brilliant work!

can people please advise wich kernel they are using and wich radio/baseband?

Maybe next time you can please cite a reference as to what your issue was and what the reply was that helped and even who you remember gave you the answer. That way when others read here, they sometimes can say to themselves, hey... i have the exact same issue and never thought about so and so to fix...as just one example. Giving a thanks to the person can also help others with a reference on who seems to be up on so and so...etc. I know I am going overboard here. But then again, the way you worded this doesn't really help others if they have similar issues. Yes, we can search on your name. Not really trying to be picky. Just trying to have everyone possibly fix a nagging problems without even having to repeat post the same problem, I'm not the thread police, so if I seem to be coming off rather dry, sorry. Just want everyone to enjoy this experience here actually with looser rules than over at the "other" place we shall not mention...but does have three letters in their name and the first letter is used in a childish board game  Rather a tacky response if I do say so myself.......

If all the posts regarding having GPS running didn't help, I would almost bet the farm installing the update won't make any difference. It should work, at least after running the apps I mentioned to lock it in. Are you sure you are NOT saying NO when google servers ask to OK you providing information. Some paranoid types believe they do not need to do this. If you decline, then GPS will NOT work. I ran into a stubborn user a while back that absolutely refused to believe me or to say yes to google spying on him so to speak. He finally gave in and guess what...GPS locked in. Not saying you haven't done this, but have to at least ask, since this has come up more often than I can remeber especially when it's just one user or so that is saying he cannot get a lock. I have to ask, when you run the GPS status tool box app, and with the delete under mange A-GPS state, then immediately download new gps data, then let it sit on a table top in view of a window...do you get approx 6-9 satellites fixed, with your latitude and longitude info in the bottom 1/3 of the page with the GPS 360 circle etc. If you do NOT get Satellites here fixed and locked in, then something is wrong with your setup. Sorry for being anal about this. Just want to make sure you havent overlooked something is all. I used to see a lot of your issues when doing support on the Nexus One Forums. This fix was basically "invented" by one of the team douche Cyanogen team members, There is a longer version that requires you to pull the battery out I believe when first deleting the data. You would shutdown after the delete, pull battery. Wait a few minutes. Replace battery. Go back to the app, and NOW choose download. Then rotate the phone in each axis. Think of this as a three dimensional grid. Rotate win a flat circle, then rotate as if the centerpoint is in the center of the phone, so that you are actually spinning the phone so to speak. I know...sounds like hocus pocus, but this was a means to fix the Nexus one's I believe back in early CM5 or CM6 days. After rotating, put the phone down. Go have a drink. Leave it alone for 10 minutes with a position that sees the outside sky. Those Satellites HAVE to start showing up now. When you have the 6-9 fixes, then go to the Latitude app and sign in again, Then maps, Navigation. End of rant B) Good luck ;)

thanks for being attentive to each detail and trust me yes i have given each step a diligent work through. i have let it sit upwards of 30 mins to no avail. maybe its jus my phone. the gps worked fine with sense roms but with my favorite rom it won't work. on cm7 the gps is finicky as well. it gives me my location but it takes forever for it lock on to a satellite

It's out when it's out.

Trip has til the year 2038 when we all go crashing to oblivion.

The year 2038 problem

On January 19 2038, Unix time 2147483647, systems still storing Unix time as a signed 32-bit integer will start to malfunction due to an overflow. 2147483647 is simply as high as a signed 32-bit integer can go! The bugs that will result are specific to the way the respective OS or program is using Unix time; they can be lethal shutdowns or harmless GUI errors. This problem is similar to the Y2K incident, and it is therefore variously named the Unix Millennium bug, Y2K38, or simply the year 2038 problem. Fortunately for all of us, most systems are likely to have switched to 64-bit by the year 2038, but you can go scare yourself some more by surfing over to 2038bug.com.

1000000000th second

Unix time 1000000000 fell on 9th September 2001, 01:46:40 AM (UTC) and was celebrated in by a party held by Danish UNIX User Group in Copenhagen.

1234567890 day!?

Unix time 1234567890 ticked on 13th February of 2009, 11:31:30 PM (UTC). Thanks in part to the success of previous unix time parties, and the efforts of 1234567890day.com, '1234567890 parties' were held in many major cities around the world.

OK...where the keg :)

I really don't see how Kernel and Radio would make much difference here. Only a fraction of the equation involves the data aspect of the phone talking to cell towers. The actual hardware that involves the GPS being able to lick is controlled by independent means with GPS hardware on the phone. You can still lock on to Satellites. My mentioning the quick reference that if you blink, you will miss it is a pop up message that has you basically using the function of the location tab under the Personal tab in menu settings that has you check the use wlan, gps, and a function referred to as auto GPS Positioning, that really go back to the data aspect via mobile networks to increase accuracy. GPS will work if you do not use any of these functions. It just will be super slow and the accuracy will fall off to 100's of feet I believe. But don't quote me on the exact numbers here regarding accuracy.

How many Satellites do you see when the phone is just setting as you are locking during the gps status app function.

What does to no avail mean. You never see ANY Satellites? You see only 2 or 3 ? Basically need to know if you are locking on anything.

Maybe even try the pull battery option.

Start the GPS Status stuff. In tools folder delete the file mentioned. Shutgdown and power off and pull battery. Let it sit for 10 min. The replace battery, boot, go back to GPS Status app, then in tools, manage A-GPS state, download the info and let it sit, after rotating the phone on all axis really slow. Place the phone in plain view of sky, flat on table and leave it alone again. Are you seeing any more Satellites here or are you seeing any?

Well, you are using TMobile US Radio. I believe Trip is using the same, so the RIL in the ROM should be matched up OK. Not your issue. Just for the sake of argument, change the server you are setuo for. Korea works for me in the US. Again, doubt that is the issue.

to no avail means it never locks on to a satellite. i just get the spinning circle because it is looking for a satellite. i give your new recommendations a try and report back. thanks again for all the help.

Sounds like your gps.conf is not right the. Do you have root explorer so you can view the file to edit
