Good morning, Guys! Here is the link to my update zip file that I use:-

When I install a new ROM I super wipe 3 times to be safe (comes from the early MIUI days on my Nexus One), format my SD Card, then flash the ROM. After booting for the first time I let it sit for 10 minutes, then reboot into recovery and flash my update zip. This installs all of my ring/notification tones, bootanimation.zip, wallpapers, themed system apks, themed framework, themed keyboard and data/app files. I do not restore and data to ensure that there will not be any problems or FCs.

You could restore your apps via TB or MyBackup Pro, but you would still need to manually install the other files. This enables everything to be installed that you need!

You can delete any folder that you do not require as this file was updated by me to suit my needs.

Please note: I take no credit for the creation of this file and I will not be responsible for any problems that you may have in using it.

It looks like that rom has nothing to do with official miui, it's allegedly link to Trip's rom, which I highly doubt considering the size of the rom (120.42 MB).

yeah, that came from someone supposedly with miui.us a few weeks ago. aka right after trip released his. it even had trip's name in the build.prop. not sure what else was added but it's definitely not anywhere near anything official.

Managed to prevent my launcher from force closing when installing Apps. The screen grid is 4 columns by 5 rows. If I have any Apps on the bottom row I get force closures. Keep them all in the upper 4x4 and I'm straight.

Cool. Nice find. I just went ahead and restored my settings from tb since I couldn't get the TAPS thing figured out anyhow. Zero fc's after I did that but before I did it was fc city!

Man gps is so right on and lightning fast! I'm on my couch which is the wall adjacent to the back porch and the arrow is sitting right on the back of my house in the exact spot I'm in! Never had gps so accurate!

This is not official release. I think he changed some stuff and said this his work. I tried it and wifi hotspot it doesn't work. And on 006b it works perfect with me. and camera flash does not work. so there is no different between this ROM and the early release from Trip.

Trip - I'm sorry to hear things are getting worse before they'll get better. But they will get better.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, A-GPS is currently not working in TripNMIUI (despite on-screen prompts that seem to indicate the opposite, it's not possible to tell whether you're using A-GPS or GPS from Maps or GPS Status apps, only from adb logcat)

However the CM-team have now fixed the bug, and it appears you can apply the fix by copying the gps.pyramid.so from their ROM to /system/lib/hw. A copy is at https://rapidshare.com/files/3799544876/gps.pyramid.so - hopefully Trip will include this in the next version of his ROM.

One other small text bug that should be a quick fix - instead of 'Missed Call' it says 'Lunar Calendar' in the call log.

That was me that i've posted the link for the "official" MIUI. Since it's a dev from MIUI.us i was thinking this is official, but it's weird. Its look like a first release of TripNMIUI. So sorry if i did a mistake to post it.

Btw, everybody that have a problem with GPS, i have a fix that will probably works :

1) Backup your rom

2) Install a Sense ROM and download GPS Status on the market

3) Launch GPS status with GPS enabled and wait for having many connections.

4) DON'T LEAVE GPS STATUS ! Hold power and reboot in recovery

5) Restore straight away your MIUI backup

6) Here we go !

Not sure, but, please, try it. Many chance that works ;)

To fix GPS issue it is even enought to install sense based ROM (for me Revolutionary HD worked fine) download locations reinstall (settings - locations - reinstall)

open maps, get GPS fixed to satellites (can close maps in ordinary way, no need to leave it opened) and reflash to MIUI...

Zoom hasn't been functional from the beginning cm7 has no zoom therefore we don't from what I understand.

I don't think it's the upper 4X4 - seems to me to be any 4X4 except for on the last screen. for example, after a full wipe, the home screen is 5X4 with a middle empty layer. I can use that same layout on all screens EXCEPT the last screen, which is kept empty for any new apps to be installed. that way all new apps go to the empty screen, and no FCs.

trip, hang in there. i hope you know i'm not complaining - just thought i'd let you know about what i'm experiencing. everybody on this board really appreciates the hard work you put in, despite what you are going through. i know right now things look like they won't ever get better, but i can assure you that they will someday. till then you just have to be strong and hold on.

Trip has advised against using other kernels because it breaks a lot of things in the rom. Of course you can flash and find out.

Idk it's been better but not crazy fast. I'm on it a lot like 3 hts straight now and I'm still at 50%. To get stock kernel reflash rom and it'll be back.

I saw this too, can't see either the point or the need for a second even if it was legit, when your rom runs so fast and stable, p.s, any word on 007? Or is it classified?

I tired it and it's sucks. wifi hotspot is not working and on your 006 it work flawless with me. they just change the name of the rom and put cm mode camera :)
