Hi Twrock ,

is there a arabic patch for this rom :

[ROM] Stock FROYO + 2.6.32 kernel

if yes pls give me the link cuz i wanna try it thanks.

i have a u8230.

Maybe I'll have some time this weekend to work on it. But if anyone else wants to give it a try first, just follow the links I provided above. For most roms it is not a complex process and is done in Windows (you don't need a Linux machine). Since I do all my work on a Linux machine, working on this Arabic patch requires extra steps for me, so it isn't something I can do in five minutes.

after long time of job finally i made the patch using this link

http://blog.devasque.com/?page_id=11

but the problem when i try to flash this file (flashable_cwm_framework.zip) via recovery i get error (installation aborted)

so when you have afree time try to make aworking patch thank you man.

You are almost done! Don't stop now!

The flashable zip you have is probably going to work. You likely have already done the hard part. Now the problem is that the zip you have will not install correctly on our phones because of the update script in the zip file. I have had that problem every time myself when creating an Arabic patch.

So, just download one of the patch files that I uploaded. Unzip both that patch and the one you have (making sure to preserve the folder structure). There are two folders in each zip: /system and /META-INF. Delete the /META-INF in your patch, and replace it with the /META-INF from my patch. Re-zip your patch and install. I suggest you change the name of your patch to indentify which rom it is for.

Good luck.

worked perfectly thank you for your support

Great!

Are you going to upload it and post a link so that others can make use of it? If you do, I'll edit the first post with a link to it as well so others can find it easily.

Dear Twrock

Would you please make an arabic patch for this rom (with your golden fingers):

http://www.modaco.com/topic/354327-froyokai-igno-v1-beats-222-port-by-desalesouche-from-um840/

I tried to make it with SPAM/api/click?format=go&key=9b4efad421c8b103b2c94b796db973b0&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.modaco.com%2Ftopic%2F346102-arabic-support-in-rom-discussion-thread%2Fpage__st__40&subId=b0ec8f07a9b2e76d29cd641fde2b9d0d&v=1&libid=1337596918166&out=http%3A%2F%2Fblog.devasque.com%2F%3Fpage_id%3D11&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.modaco.com%2Fforum%2F413-t-mobile-pulse-pulsemodacocom%2Fpage__prune_day__100__sort_by__Z-A__sort_key__last_post__topicfilter__all&title=Arabic%20support%20in%20rom%20discussion%20thread%20-%20T-Mobile%20Pulse%20-%20Pulse.MoDaCo.com%20-%20MoDaCo%20-%20Page%203&txt=http%3A%2F%2Fblog.devasque.com%2F%3Fpage_id%3D11&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13375978834373

but unfortunately it didn't work, also I followed your advice "So, just download one of the patch files that I uploaded. After these trials I realized that this work needs your golden fingers

Thanx in progress

Ok, so after following some links to information on how to get Arabic to render correctly, I would like to suggest that someone who needs Arabic support do the following to see if it works. (It won't do any good for me to do it, because I won't know if it is working correctly.)

Disclaimer: I am only trying to help, and I can not promise anything. I can not guarantee that doing what I ask you to do won't result in something terrible happening to your phone. (Although I can't imagine a reason why something terrible would happen to your phone.) Please don't blame me if something goes wrong.

  1. Download this file: Arabic2.1SupportInstall.zip
  2. Copy it to your SD card.
  3. Copy one of the 2.1 rom mod install zip files to your SD card that does not have Arabic support built-in. (Notice, this is only for 2.1 roms!)
  4. Reboot into CWRecovery and make a backup of your system.
  5. Do a full data wipe/factory reset.
  6. Install the 2.1 rom mod. Do not reboot yet!
  7. Install the Arabic2.1SupportInstall.zip.
  8. Now reboot.

Try it out and tell us what happened.

When I've got some spare time I will look into these requests. However, I suggest you also try asking EgyptoBoy since he was successful in creating a patch previously for his own use. (Although, he didn't make it available to others yet, so I don't know if he is interested in helping you, but you can still ask.)
