1.mine is ok but when the call end it is a little hard to wake up,did you enable the auto rorate?

2.add the line in init.rc "iocharset=utf8" after "mount vfat /dev/block/mmclk1p5 / storage" ,and dont forget the space between in

Thanks!

I had disable the auto roate.

First:

Fixed my "Android Logo Screen Loop" bug by deleting my ext4 partition and building a new one with 2Gb...

Second:

IT'S MOTHERFU***INGAMAZINGLY FAST!!!! I mean: OMG!!!!

It can totally put ours WinMo on the trash can!!!!

Starting battery duration test... I just hope the battery can go trough a full work-day...

Thank you so much, devs!!!

And thank you rom_omnia for the help... :D

Uhm...

I was trying to install the Swype keyboard... The installer says that "it cannot be installed on a android emulator"... weird, isn't it?

Any thoughts about it, devs?

To be able to see Internal Storage:

1: You need to open ext4.tar.gz ( I did under ubuntu)

2: Open "init.rc" where you can see

"mount vfat /dev/block/mmcblk1p5 /storage"

3: Now you change to:

"mount vfat /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 /storage"

4: Don't forget to save and wait until repacks the archive

I have done this under Ubuntu 11.04 Natty instaled alongside with Windows vista on my laptop

and on my SDCARD.

1.--I removed microsdcard from phone and pluged in microsd addapter and in then in laptop

2.--Under ubuntu I deleted, with Gparted, al previous partitions of sdcard

with froyo beta (make sure to do a backup copy of froyo beta 1 of all you

personal files)

3.--Then create 2 primary partitions in ubuntu with gparted

---one fat32 "sdcard"

---second ext4 "system"

-ext4.tar.gz has to be on Desktop

-mount "sdcard" and "system"

4.--Type in TERMINAL "cd Desktop"

It will appears as (username) - desktop: ~/Desktop

5.--Then,type in ''sudo tar zxvf ext4.tar.gz -C /media/system''

Insert your password, then click Enter.

6.--Now place on your "sdcard": ext4.tar.gz ; zimage ; startup ;Haret or you can unpack "froyo_beta2_manual_inst.zip" to your "sdcard"

7.-- Now unmount (safe remove)

8.-- Put the card back in the phone and click on Haret from "STORAGE "

You will see a pink screen for les than 3 min and than will change to android logo, which will take a couple of minutes.

Make sure to check "startup" file because on "froyo_beta2_manual_inst.zip" from http://o2droid.phj.hu/index_en.php I noticed is missing this part:

pfw 0x7f005800 4 0x3

pfw 0x7f005804 4 0x805

pfw 0x7f005808 4 0x7

pfw 0x7f00580c 4 0x0

pfw 0x7f005828 4 0x11

pfw 0x7f00582c 4 0x80

boot

It works like a charm except the wifi bug.

hi, been android-ing my omnia 2 since eclair beta 2. this release is definitely better. less freezes and no more sod(although the sod problem in beta 1 can be solved using Antutu CPU Master and set the min clock to 133MHz. heat and battery life problem by setting the max clock to 400MHz). things are generally more responsive and the gps doesnt get on my nerves anymore lol..

k, problems with this release that i've found out is:

1. when the phone is in sleep mode and a call comes in, the phone rings but the screen remains off.. so there's no way of answering the call. the only way to wake the phone up is hitting the "end call" button which wakes it up but unfortunately it also ends the call for real.

--> Definitely nope for me. It works almost perfectly

2. the battery never charges to full. well, it did when i charged it the first time after i installed beta 2, but after that it never did even though i charged it overnight(which is bout 7 hours or more).

--> I'm testing it now. Let's see if it can reach 100% :)

3. some apps, especially Advanced Task Killer, makes the phone freeze and black out. screen would appear after a few seconds but with the message saying the app is not responsive and i have the choice of force close or wait. wait usually works and the app resumes working.

--> Honestly, Advanced Task Killer has worked fine for me since Beta 1. My version currently is v1.9.3. Truly you don't really need this app.

4. graphics is abit glitchy... same as beta 1 but i dont think there is a solution for the time bring since they're the same driver.. angry birds rio ran fine though lol

--> Yes

5. oh, n there's no option to apply live wallpaper. i could install it, but the option to apply live wallpaper is not there, same as what happened in beta 1. in beta 1 the option appeared after the live wallpaper fix(at xda-developers page which is bundled with google map live wallpaper).

--> Yes I hope this function will work on the next release

now i've been reading what other were saying(all 32 pages of it haha), and i found some problems that they're facing didnt happened to me. wifi works fine and my camera works fine. i didnt get stuck at pink screen, not even once. nevertheless, thanks to the development team, you guys saved my omnia 2.

--> Yes totally agree

My phone: Samsung Omnia 2 i8000 8GB

Installation method: using Kubuntu. copied the files from the beta 2 zip folder into root of My Storage and unpacked ext4.tar.gz(using the command line sudo tar zxvf ext4.tar.gz -C yourandroidpartitiondirectory) into Android partition(ext4, primary partition, mmcblk1p2) in My Storage. also copied o2beta from beta 1 into the root of My Storage just to be safe. ran haret from root of My Storage. pink screen never lasted more than 30 secs as voyteckst has mentioned and viola, success.

--> Yes I use this way too :)

After more than 2 days I only found out these 3 bugs (knows issues appart):

1. I got 2 freezes; one when using RootExplorer and one using Button Savior. It seems it has to be with root access since they both require root. Nevertheless, most of times they work properly.

2. Scanning mobile networks doesn't work. It returns an error and you can't select another network (You have to reboot and change it in WinMo and then boot android again). It happened in Froyo Beta 1 too.

3. Battery charge shown seems not to be accurate according with WinMo values.

And a very good thing: GPS fixes incredibilly fast, about 10 secons to fix satellites, much faster than last beta or WinMo. Really amazing.

One last thing:

Mr. Voyteckst, I wrote it in a post before but I think you didn't read it:

What about Fm radio? Is there any way to make it work? I haven't seen it in your list under development. I think it's not a priority, but why did it work in Eclair and not in Froyo?

Thanks.

Hello ,

Batery life is almost perfect(perfection doesn't excist :-) ). It when this night, about 10 hours off sleep, with 10% down. And when i use the phone its the same ass winmo for me.

I have set cpu and taskkiller install. The batery charge till the end 100%.

This android works great, i can use it daily .

Only two things are when i am calling i can't go to my keyboard and the graphics aren't that good, that's not a great priority. But the first thing with the keyboard, is there a solutio, for it?

Thanks and regards

It's in My Storage or SD card??

Do you have any sd card inserted?? Could be the problem.

Do you have two partitions in My Storage or SD car only if you see with Gparted??

How can I get my wifi to work? Connects to the internet, I get an IP, but when I open my browser I am unable to open any pages. I read something about static ip before, but I do not know how to do it. Could someone explain to me what I have to put for the different things? Thank you!
