Guest IPB_Refugee Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 Hello Monfro, at first thanks for your great work! I have to admit that I use another ROM and I want to keep it because re-installing all apps and settings takes so much time. Both v1 and v2 have Power Menu with Reboot and Clockwork options. I feel it very useful and it is there as default. I really would love to have your Power Menu. Do you think it is possible to use your Power Menu in other ROMs, too? Maybe just one (or a few) file(s) has to be replaced? May I ask for a hint, please? That would be really cool! Thanks again Wolfgang
Guest rukanito Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 Hello Monfro, at first thanks for your great work! I have to admit that I use another ROM and I want to keep it because re-installing all apps and settings takes so much time. Use titanium backup https://market.android.com/details?id=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup&feature=search_result and app2SD https://market.android.com/details?id=com.a0soft.gphone.app2sd&feature=search_result to install a new rom and keep the apps and data. Monfro and about radio problem, any solution?
Guest abbas_sheikh Posted September 25, 2011 Report Posted September 25, 2011 Excellent ROM super fast. +1
Guest Monfro Posted September 25, 2011 Report Posted September 25, 2011 this patch doesnt solves the problem... can you try this patch and see if it works or not? thanks Tomorrow i will work on FM radio bug. Someone with v1 or v2 can tell if FM radio works?

Guest IPB_Refugee Posted September 25, 2011 Report Posted September 25, 2011 Hello Monfro, currently I use Ginger Stir Fry Beta 22 with burstlam's Blade kernel 2.6.35 for Gingerbread Leak Version v2.5.2. I read some topics at XDA developers board and changing the power menu really doesn't seem to be simple... Have a nice evening! Wolfgang
Guest dirlan2001 Posted September 25, 2011 Report Posted September 25, 2011 Hmmm .... I don't see why you should release a new ROM (?) everytime Burstlam recompiles a kernel. It's much easier and hassle-free to install that new kernel in Clockwork. :D Dirk
Guest survietamine Posted September 25, 2011 Report Posted September 25, 2011 (edited) hi Monfro, very good idea to customize CAE. Nice to have replaced dialer, alarm apk. I didn't installed yet but will soon. Do you plan to replace FileManager too ? I found a bug with this program. When I rename my saves (done by CWM), it adds some digits at the end. So I removed with root explorer and use Linda File Manager instead. Another point, as I prefer the power control widget (because i can see and change quickly settings) than the notification bar widgets. Is that possible to include it ? The CM7 power widget is much featured than the ones on other ROMs. Thanks for your release that I'll follow closely. Edited September 25, 2011 by survietamine
Guest jutei Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 Tomorrow i will work on FM radio bug. Someone with v1 or v2 can tell if FM radio works? I'm with V2 and the FM radio doesn't work. Great ROM, have been using GSF, CM7 and the original CAE, but this one works best for me. Thanks man :)
Guest INFERNO66 Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 Monfro Nice work. How you add to power menu - reboot and recovery? Mini instruction please, i want add to my custom framework
Guest Vlipper Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 Hi Monfro, I installed your ROM (CAE 2.5.1), thanks for the great job! :) Except for the known fm-radio and xt9 issues it works flawlessly. There's one thing however that's very annoying to me: my phone won't vibrate during incoming messages, regardless of the mode or the settings for 'vibrate' (always on; in silent mode only; etc). Strangely enough for incoming calls vibration does work, even in silent mode. I keep my phone (stock gen 2) in silent mode nearly always, but with no vibrations for incoming messages that won't work. Do you have any ideas where to look for a solution? Thanks in advance!
Guest Monfro Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 (edited) Changelog V3 (27-09-2011): - Radio FM working (Andorko FM Radio 0.5) - Gallery 3D from CM7 (used also in GSF): really faster!! - Browser and some bytes from ZTE Skate (Orange Monte Carlo) official rom - Other tweaks and fixes and improvements I did not use Andorko's FM Radio 0.6 because there is a bug: draining issues after you use it. Guest DVDeus Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 Hello everyone! Looks like this ROM is one of the best 2.3. I already have Blue Ginger V5, and it works flawlessly except for really huge battery draining while in GSM only mode. When in 3G, it is OK. But then there is a low/none signal coverage, except for the citites.. Therefore I am willing to try it, or maybe I should just update the kernel? Thanks!
Guest he-lecas Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 Hi Monfro, is necessary any sdcard partition for this rom? Thks
Guest Thermostat9 Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 (edited) Help please! I've downloaded this ROM and installed it but am repeatedly getting a message 'The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again' I was running Blue Ginger that had been fine although I seemed to be losing phone signal recently. Obviously I have been Gen2 for some time and don't know what to do now! Consider me a newbie at all this, have no idea were to go as all my updates had gone quite well before this! The phone seems unusable, there are few app icons most are generic Android 'green boxes' rather than the correct ones and I can't get rid of this message as it just comes back when I choose 'Force close'. Can't get to the Market to download and install Titanium Backup to restore my apps as the message keeps popping up and killing the keyboard. (Worse still I can't seem to search this forum on my Mac for anything to do with 'android.process.acore'. Really not loving the layout, sorry!) Any idea where I can look or what I can do? Edit - Just tried to download Titanium Backup and install on the USB and my Mac says, after mounting to USB, 'Mac cannot repair the disk 'Untitled'. Does anyone think something happened to my SD card causing this problem? Didn't happen before, I'm guessing App2SD (that I have not been using for sometime) or something similar is missing. Not bothered, happy to reinstall everything if I need to but what can I do to get rid of the problem? Edited September 27, 2011 by Thermostat9
Guest l2azor Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 hey am getting the following in CWM when i try to install this rom "installing update... assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img","boot") E: error in /sdcard/monfro cae v3.zip (status 7) installation aborted. If it doesn't help , download rom again and put it back on your sd-card. There's probably some fault in the zip-file on your SD-card .
Guest Monfro Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 (edited) Hi Monfro, is necessary any sdcard partition for this rom? Thks Yes, it is better to have a partition on SD (ext2, ext3 or ext4) to take full advantage of SD-EXT. Help please! Not bothered, happy to reinstall everything if I need to but what can I do to get rid of the problem? Probably (as already pointed by Kuoi): you did not format system and data (better also boot, cache and sd-ext) under "mounts and storage" in clockwork, or you did not wipe cache and dalvik, and some files from the old rom remained and give conflicts with the new rom. hey am getting the following in CWM when i try to install this rom "installing update... assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img","boot") E: error in /sdcard/monfro cae v3.zip (status 7) installation aborted. Guest l2azor Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 thats what i thought but am on gen2...asked mr pigfish and i have already been using gsf and blade mix and cm7
Guest rukanito Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 Very good work monfro. the radio app works and the rom as faster than other versions.
Guest Monfro Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 Very good work monfro. the radio app works and the rom as faster than other versions. Thank you!! Probably because of some changes and some bytes from ZTE Skate (Orange Monte Carlo) official rom, that i forget to mention in the changelog.
Guest deksman2 Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 Thermostat9... did you do a full wipe before installing this ROM? If not, I recommend you wipe everything and reinstall the ROM. Works fine here. The only thing I would suggest is perhaps some more optimization (speed increase) during UI scrolling and all. It's relatively fast now, but WhatsApp for example scrolling is a bit stuttering (nothing too serious, but it can be a bit annoying as GSF seemed to give a more... fluid look to it).
Guest Monfro Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 thats what i thought but am on gen2...asked mr pigfish and i have already been using gsf and blade mix and cm7 Strange...what Clockworkmod you have on your phone? Every version above 3 should work. Try to change it. I suggest cwm 4 with gui by PhoTom, it is the one i have installed.
Guest rukanito Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 You're welcome ;) what is "AOSP contacts/dialer/message download CM7 Dialer"? can you post some screens? thanks
