Guest Marmach Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 (edited) If anyone's interested, there's a quite good app (by Dmitry Matuzko) for automatic screen brightness control. It's called... Custom Auto Brightness ! ;P Link It can't be downloaded directly from Market because i8000 isn't recognized as a valid device (at least I had this problem), so the only way is to download it using native Android device, back it up and install on Omnia. If properly calibrated (I have only modified the brightness curve, without using hysteresis etc.) it works almost like in WinMo. I haven't tested it for long term stability / SOD so be warned! :D Edited September 26, 2011 by Marmach

Guest voyteckst Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 I get this app ,, downloadfile.rar Maybe You can name this app?
Guest AoSra1n Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 Its the same app as the first post = Custom Auto Brightness. He's done the hard work for everyone and uploaded the apk. It has a different name called LogGraph when you install it. But is the same program. I uninstalled it because it took up battery (not too much), and i didnt really require autobrightness.
Guest picfan Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 Maybe You can name this app? I am sorry ,my english is very very pool. The app is custom auto brightness.
Guest Marmach Posted October 3, 2011 Report Posted October 3, 2011 I uninstalled it because it took up battery (not too much), and i didnt really require autobrightness. I didn't observe that. In fact, when I used brightness fixed to ~60% my battery lasted for 1,5 days, while when using automatic brightness it's enough for 2 days (using only 2G internet connection).

Under usage, this program was using 5-10% of my battery. I put my brightness all the way down, and manually change during day if i go outside. So for me, battery life is better manually. Clearly your 60% fixed display brightness is consuming more battery than this program, hence why automatic is better for you.
