Guest tillaz Posted October 3, 2011 Report Posted October 3, 2011 (edited) have you tried using fastboot to boot pauls's superboot image? just tried and got the same outcome.. Edited October 3, 2011 by tillaz
Guest tillaz Posted October 3, 2011 Report Posted October 3, 2011 (edited) can i just check paul or Sebastian, are we are doing this right or is there more to it ??? Once you have the drivers installed you should be able to use ADB, you can enable this this by going into options/applications and turning on remote debugging.. grab a copy of ClockworkMod recovery from this forum, and unzip it somehwere it should come with a copy of fastboot-windows.exe and adb-windows.exe now you should be able to type 'adb-windows.exe reboot bootloader' and your phone should reboot and stay at the android/SFR logo/other, once that happens you should type 'fastboot-windows.exe boot clockworkmod.img' and clockwork mod will boot... once there you can use clockwork mod to do a full nadroid backup, make sure you only share your boot.img, recovery.img and system.img files, the other ones will contain your personal information.. Guest acidsnake Posted October 3, 2011 Report Posted October 3, 2011 So can we use zap's rom dump and install it on our phones???
Guest tillaz Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) for colonel, try this for your back up, this is the method the user on 2.3.5 had success with. from Win7 64bit it was pretty straightforward with GUI. Process followed if anyone is interested was as follows: 1. Loaded and booted adb-windows.exe via adb from "r4-4.0.14-skate-clockworkmod" 2. Rebooted to Android 3. Loaded and booted GUI via adb with "update photom_cwm_update_skate.zip" as per Final Clockwork GUI post 4. Selected backup and waited for it to complete 5. Rebooted to Android and copied the files from SD card Edited October 4, 2011 by tillaz
Guest ColonelZap Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 for colonel, try this for your back up, this is the method the user on 2.3.5 had success with. Sorry, I can't follow this, this is too much for me  I need a step by step instruction, not having to jump through at least 3 Threads with references to different posts throughout these threads. Do we actually NEED my backup? Now that we have 2.3.5 backup? I doubt my rom will be any better ;)
Guest tillaz Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) Do we actually NEED my backup? Now that we have 2.3.5 backup? I doubt my rom will be any better ;) no, this is just for your benefit and other zte branded skate users with versions 2.3.4, should anything go wrong when rooting, flashing a custom rom, or a warranty return its a good idea you guys have access to a 100% stock rom EDIT: i think all he done different woz use the clockworkmod image from here http://android.modac...ockworkmod-gui/ Edited October 4, 2011 by tillaz
Guest ColonelZap Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) EDIT: i think all he done different woz use the clockworkmod image from here You are SO right and THAT'S a language I can understand, LOL  Nandroid Backup Skate Stockrom V2.3.4 Edited October 4, 2011 by ColonelZap
Guest spigot Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 Can you please post step by step what you did? Thanks.
Guest ColonelZap Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) I did that: DONT DO THIS!! (Root using superboot. The topic is pinned ) there currently is no root exploit that works with 2.3.4 (that I know of at least) so you need to do the following.. plug the phone into your pc and let it install the drivers, the phone should show up as a CD drive the first time you hook it up... The only thing I did different was that I used the recovery mode image from this thread: My link Edit: Bottom Line: 1. Install the drivers 2. type adb-windows.exe reboot bootloader 3. type fastboot-windows.exe boot recovery.img 4. phone will boot into the recovery mode 5. select backup and wait for it to finish. You will then find a nandroid folder on your SD-card with the backup inside. Edited October 4, 2011 by ColonelZap
Guest spigot Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 So instead of "fastboot-windows.exe boot clockworkmod.img" you did "fastboot-windows.exe boot recovery.img"?
Guest tillaz Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) Can you please post step by step what you did? Thanks. we already have a 100% stock 2.3.5 rom, its exactly the same as wot you will produce download it here > http://android.modac...not-unlock-omc/ if you just want to back up just flash clockworkmod with the guide, and take it from there but remember DO NOT USE THE ROOTING GUIDE ON VERSION 2.3.5 (pauls superboot ) Edited October 4, 2011 by tillaz

I know, I only want to learn new things about Android as I did WM. That's all. :) And how do I do rooting with Android 2.3.5?
Guest ColonelZap Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) So instead of "fastboot-windows.exe boot clockworkmod.img" you did "fastboot-windows.exe boot recovery.img"? Yes, I believe the name of the recovery image from that recovery mode is called "recovery.img" P.S.: I just flashed your Bluemonte V1.6, I love it, GREAT job!!!! Edited October 4, 2011 by ColonelZap

EDIT: Ignore me..I am brain addled Edited October 4, 2011 by PedroVader
Guest ColonelZap Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) EDIT: Ignore me..I am brain addled That's o.k. Let's just collect all the different roms. Pretty soon Aldi will be selling the Skate and as far as I know, China Unicom will also be selling these babys, soon :-) Edit: BTW, maybe somebody can collect all the needed files, throw them together and write a little script? Maybe that'll help people who want to dump their roms as well? Edited October 4, 2011 by ColonelZap
Guest tillaz Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) And how do I do rooting with Android 2.3.5? you cant yet.... but you can flash one of available roms (they are all rooted on 2.3.4) i'm sure i will be available very soon tho... Edited October 4, 2011 by tillaz
