Guest Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 (edited) Loving this tillaz, absolutely perfect! And I agree about the root thing,in my few years with rooted devices, never once has a dodgy app asked for root so its no problem, nice and easy. And its nice to see AtomicMod back on the notification pull down. Edited February 27, 2012 by Guest
Guest unomesmo Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 (edited) why do you have blackmarket on your phone if its no safe ??? seems rather silly to me, also how do you know its not safe ??? Do you know the blackmarket? It is only for downloading applications. This should not have root privileges because it can install or modify anything and I have to refuse it. The carrireIQ came preinstalled on the phones, I think it is not a good example. It's like if windows or linux now never request administrative rights, the whole system reliability Root access becomes meaningless if any user or application automatically get privileges. So I think it's not a good idea to have removed the barrier provided by superuser.apk But it is just my humble opinion. I do not want to bother you more with this topic. I'll take the R7 with superuser.apk and so choose me and not the system ... and of course I'm infinitely grateful for your great work. Edited February 27, 2012 by unomesmo

Guest Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Watched everything it seems only advantage is better videos and images.........can anyone explain in detail ? I would not say only video & images, this will affect everything that is visible on your display, for example, playing angry birds, there will be more clarity in color and sharpness of the game...
Guest tillaz Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Watched everything it seems only advantage is better videos and images.........can anyone explain in detail ? that's all it is, better video and picture quality
Guest Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 that's all it is, better video and picture quality So it does not affect the whole display, that's a shame, would be cool if it did, games would be awesome.

Guest unomesmo Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 any malicious app can get on the system with out root... its exactly like viruses on a pc, we don't give the virus / trojan administration privileges.. they have there own exploit to gain it... just like all those oneclick root apps i would say carrierIQ is a good example... just because an app is on the system dose not mean it dose not need root access, nofrillsCPU is on the system but it still asks for root or it will not work... where as carrierIQ did not ask for anything, yet it had full root privileges, malicious apps do not need root to cause harm... when you install an app you are allowing it permitions to do what ever it asks... root or no root take a close look at the example below.. its this you should be worrying about , specificity apps that ask for network accesses Ok, thanks again for your explanation. I always look at the permissions of the applications and even I disable some of these with 'Permissions Free' when I believe it necessary, also use 'DroidWall' to prevent traffic from applications that do not want to access the network. I like to know and control, as far as possible, what happens. It might be a paranoid, but I feel safer when an app asks me for root privileges and I can deny it whenever I want. Also in this way, I would never have known that the blackmarket is trying to access root. It's just an example, do not think only in this case. Another reason is that I installed the rom to other friends that are not managed well in this and they could eliminate something without knowing that they were acting as super users. In superuser.apk I leave marked the option 'Always deny' and so we avoid problems. Now this is no longer possible. Thanks again. Although I still see as a benefit this new method. Nor is it so hard to check the 'remember box' to grant or deny privileges on the superuser.apk when we do not want to receive pop-ups. And I still do not understand why I have to lose the power to decide in favor of avoiding pops-up... I feel I'm losing freedom. I do not know if you understand my position .. Sorry I did not know perhaps better express myself. English is not my native language. I feel sad about not being able to enjoy your hard work with bravia engine... but EY! anyway, Atomic r7 rocks!!!! - It is time to rest for me and wait for change to ICS rom ;) Thank you so much!!!
Guest Dukelord Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 So how to install properly from v4? And when are you gonna update the mods to R8?
Guest v1pEr Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 So how to install properly from v4? And when are you gonna update the mods to R8? Just install the new rom, R8 will do the wipes for you so don't forget to do a backup first
Guest CrypticX Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 read the channel log, new handling of root = no more superuser.apk or its silly pop ups... the rom has root !. to everyone, if you delete anything from the ROM before flashing it, don't report bugs or at least be sure its there in a clean un-modified install. [qestion] just how many apps do you actually refuse root permissions ?????? @Tillaz I have 2 skate's (one for my GF) On the other was skatie installed with 150Mb system partition, giving much more space for internal apps (her Flashcard is realy slow...). I tested with R7, and it works smooth. I would like to do it on my own Skate to... 2 little questions after your warning... - To fit on the 150Mb Is it harmless to remove for example "AtomicModWallpapers.apk" and "maps.apk" and install them after flashing? (2 biggest apk's, or do you suggest moving others?) - I see the cache partition is empty. Can I choose the TPT with the 2Mb cache also? Thnx again for the great update!
Guest H3ROS Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Can the animations also be applied to R7? I just tested it and it seems as though the animations can also be applied to R7
Guest JetKun Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 wait,I'm chronically retarded...what is a bravia engine?

When I have atomic installed,it goes on a 130mb partition and lots of apps get removed before flashing. So in answer to your question, yes you can remove apps, just nothing that is needed. I uninstall, maps, email,YouTube, browser, wallpapers, music.Any apps like that are fine.As you can see some of the apps mentioned above are ones that one would use....but that is cool because you can install them on the data partition after flashing rom.And also apps like browser or music for example,if you use opera and poweramp why keep stock browser or stock music if you have no use for them.
