I'm so pleased my brand new lg optimus 2x arrived today. It's so much better than the skate. This phone is amazing and super slick. Tillaz did you get one or are you waiting a while? I still highly reccomend them at the price. It's on a total other plane to the skate in performance and features. Still I'm keeping the skate for my wife so I will still visit this forum. It's not worth double the price imo especially with the smaller screen.

I only paid £199 brand new from amazon. So I don't think it was bad at all for that price. Lg website still lists them at quote

were £549

Now £399

Save £150.00

So a steal at £199 from amazon and I can say this phone is worlds away in performance and features. It really is a superb phone, It's outstanding with a superb 1080p video camera and 8mp cam. Plus it outputs full 1080p hd to my tv and films and games look stunning. Web browsing and flash support runs super nice. This is a really slick phone and although the screen is smaller I really don't notice as the screen is much better than the skate in all ways.

Don't get me wrong the skate is also nice but the lack of armv7 and proper flash really drag it down.

But if you are happy with the skate limited to armv6 software then yes you can't do better for the money. Thats what I have done I only had my skate for a week or so and my wife loves it and she is not worried by the lack of armv7 support, So I gave it to her. So as long as your happy with that then stick with the skate.

I also noticed that amazon keep changing the price from £245 to £199

They listed three again today brand new and unlocked at that price. But they were all gone in about an hour. So If you keep watching amazon you should eventually catch them at that price again.

if you long hold one of the power widgets in the status bar it will take you to there settings

Nice Rom and very nice ICS theme!

But I have a bug with the power widget in the notification bar. The names are cutted..

By the way, is there any way to configurate the buttons in the widget? I want to add button of screen brightness!

While I whole heartedly agree that the 2x is more powerful, I still stand by what I said. Not to mention just as my sig suggests I have big hands and big thumbs and being a power texter/emailer I need as much screen real estate for the keyboard I can get (which was why I was considering a Sensation XL until I came to my senses and realised it's far too overpriced), I also used to have a galaxy s but felt that wasn't big enough (and that too was a 4" screen if it not mistaken). I'm happy with its performance using Atomic and the arm6 thing would bother me if I used flash on it, but I don't (heck I rarely even use the browser at all!). I'm genuinely going to stick with this phone until a sub-£150 phone with a substantially faster cpu and the same (or bigger) screen size comes out. It's only a matter of time, and being on contract, time is something I have plenty of ;).

Im also experiencing the display timing out as soon as I make a call. Whats worse is I cant get the screen back on by pressing power or any other button. Calls where I need to choose Option 1 etc I cant do.

Any ideas?

For the price that you paid, and for what you seem to want, you have a good buy. But that price is no longer generally available and it is typically £249. For some people it would still be a worthy buy but for me and my type of use from a phone it would be too expensive for a smaller screen size. Having used a 4" sized screen I'm surprised that I notice a difference with going slightly bigger but I do. I would be reluctant to pay a lot more money to end up with a smaller screen size with my bit fat cludgy fingers.

The only thing I would have liked is better camera and video camera performance from the Skate but it has a flash and so is better than the Blade in that respect. If I want to play a game, apart from some simple ones, I have a tablet and a PC for that - the same goes for the Internet.

We all want different things from our phones but the Skate seems to tick most of my boxes at the moment.

Now if only the Galaxy Note was available at that price :)

Just downloaded touchpal dialler and still same problem. Screen goes black as soon as you press call.

Unless I miss something I'm surprised that no one has commented on the lack of a file explorer by default. Again I might have missed it but until I dl Titanium from the market and restore my own there doesn't seem to be one.

@tillaz - you have noted a relationship between BT and the music app. Now I do not use the music app but still need to BT transfer capability so rather than remove the music app would I be ok in freezing it to stop it running all the time, unless that is needed for some weird and wonderful BT association.?Q

Androzip is the default file explorer on atomic.
