Guest filao Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 Very nice - finally an excuse to sort out my partitions. When I Gen2'd my phone I used the stock partitions which left had a tiny partition for apps. I used the Windows tool with the new 160Mb partition then flashed Vanilla and it's a very quick ROM! I thought CAE was good ... Battery life doesn't bother me much, I turn off data (just have Wi-Fi) and no BT so as long as it lasts me a day it's fine. One bug though - I can't configure proximity or light sensors using the built-in eMode helper? When I try to calibrate I get a FC, then when I try again the screen goes blank and I have to press home. Then I have to reboot to try again. My auto-brightness does nothing. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Guest adonwenas Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 I want implementing keyboard from other rom.. Guest MidaMilunk Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 Updated to RLS7. It is very possible that this is the final release. 'No battery mod' add-on is updated, other add-ons are just renamed. See the first post for more info. What about Toggle2G? Is it included, or can be added like with RLS6?
Guest domdom43 Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 I'm not sure if there is a config file that you can edit. Auto-brightness values are in framework-res.apk/res/values/arrays.xml. You need to use apktool to get your hands on these. Current ones are: <integer-array name="config_autoBrightnessLevels">
5

10

300

500

1000

3000

8000

16000
</integer-array> <integer-array name="config_autoBrightnessLcdBacklightValues">
50

70

90

90

110

140

170

210

255
</integer-array> First values are the brighness readings and the second ones are the actual backlight values. As you can see it doesn't go all way to the min, but neither it did with the stock values. You can also calibrate your sensors using the emode helper, calibrating the ambient light sensor might help with the 'slowness'. I took a look in my stock values (bouygues telecom 2.1 french) values were: <integer-array name="config_autoBrightnessLevels">
20

50

100

300

600

800

1000

3000

8000

10000

12000

999999999
</integer-array> <integer-array name="config_autoBrightnessLcdBacklightValues">
30

50

70

90

110

130

150

170

190

210

230

255
</integer-array> In blueGingerV5 values are: <integer-array name="config_autoBrightnessLevels">
10

20

50

100

220

500

1000

3000

5000
</integer-array> <integer-array name="config_autoBrightnessLcdBacklightValues">
25

35

50

70

90

110

140

200

230

255
</integer-array> I have try to build a framework-res.apk and sign it but i have boot loop (if installed with root explorer) or crash (if pushed with adb).
Guest KonstaT Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 What about Toggle2G? Is it included, or can be added like with RLS6? It's not included but it can be added same way as before. See this post for download and installation instructions. I have actually also added a link to that post in the add-on section on the first post. ;)
Guest ManMetDeHamer Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 I switched to this rom again yesterday after having some issues with the latest cm7 nighties. But for some reason i seem to lose my data connection when the screen goes of, anyone else has this problem?
Guest KonstaT Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 I have try to build a framework-res.apk and sign it but i have boot loop (if installed with root explorer) or crash (if pushed with adb). What key did you use? I attached the test key I've used. Did you set the correct permissions (644) for framework-res.apk after you pushed it to phone? I'm not totally sure, but I think (as strange as it sounds) that 30 equals zero in those backlight values, the ones from your stock ROM should be correct.M-MHMP-testkey.zip

Guest CodeWarrior Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 For apps is the titanium backup, also bauckups the wifi pass,language-time,widgets, for launcher settings if you use another(LPro,GO launcher etc) than the stock launcher there is a option to backup your current settings and restore them and there is also the HuaweiBackupV2.1.8 for sms and other settings backuphuawei.zip Thanks this made upgrading much easier!
Guest Bob@Desire Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 I'm on RLS6, so it is necessary to wipe everything or is cache enough?
Guest KonstaT Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 I'm on RLS6, so it is necessary to wipe everything or is cache enough? You should be just fine updating to RLS7 without a wipe. 'Officially' I of course always recommend full wipe and if you encounter problems of any kind you know what to do...
Guest hetz Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 (edited) I have 2 issues with the WIFI in this rom (and also with the gingerblade nagaruku rom): Even though I've set the wifi policy to "NEVER" sleep, the wifi connection drops and disconnect completely when the phone is unplugged from the charger. Second issue is that the while using the phone, wifi connection drops for a few seconds and then automatically reconnects after a few seconds. this seem to happen in a random way every certain amount of time (approximately every 30 minutes while using the phone). I didn't have these issues with the Ginger stir fry rom (and it's the same phone and same wifi access point). Any idea why is it happening ? really don't want to go back to GSF because this rom is much faster. Just tried with a different wifi access point and it didn't disconnect. I guess this problem is specific to my DD-WRT ap. Edited November 24, 2011 by hetz

BACK UP YOUR CURRENT ROM before flashing. Wipe cache I haven't tested it cause i'm pretty happy with my theme(i "borrowed" some stuff from other themes n thats why i don't upload it).The only suggestion , is to make a version without the fonts change, unless the new fonts support non Latin languages. Some photos would be nice. Nice to see more themes :)! Btw all seem to work fine so far, updating to rls7. Thanks KonstaT!

Guest jocamedeiros Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 Hi to all. I'm very pleased with this rom in the 6th release and for me is good enough. But I would like to ask if it is possible to adjust the power or current spent by the Wi-Fi capability. Since I've came form a nokia E series that has this possibility, we could adjust to 4mwatts and the wi-fi was running over 24 hours without kill the battery. I'm not interested in get all the networks in the neighbourhood. I just want that to be reliable and conserve energy. Thank You. this is a Great rom
Guest N@R Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 (edited) How could one root the official ROM? Use 'verify nandroid backup' option to check /sdcard/image/nandroid.md5. -Power off, pull battery out, put battery back in -Press and hold VOLUME UP and MENU keys while you power on -You should see green text on your screen. Installation is in progress and you can let go of the keys -It takes about a minute after which your phone will boot into Moldovan Mile-High-Mountain-Pie RLS6 (first boot can take several minutes) After completed installation, delete/move/rename 'image' folder so that you don't restart TPT by accident.

Guest OSF-Vector Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 How to change boot up screen/ splash screen because Ive attempted using ones where you have to flash them and also where you have to put the boot animation in the sdcard/data/local and both of these when I do them I still have the same boot screen what is up? and how can I make it work?
Guest Ibcus Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 Is there a two way call recorder that works with this rom or a kernel I can install that will make one work?
