Guest antnee Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 Ive heard a few issues in various forums about the new superuser not working properly newest version that was updated in the last couple of days isnt crashing anymore for me.
Guest antnee Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 I'm sure this has already been covered but I can't seem to locate a fix for the portrait lock screen, home screen lock works fine on go launcher but the lock screen is just retarded and stuck in landscape. this rom is running pretty well, some qwerky little issues but overall very nice! same issues as most everyone with the wifi and gps connections as well as the market needing a dalvik cleaning every now and then. mad props to the dev masters! Look on xda under the general section you will find the fix that works from themanii

Guest jitin sharma Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 (edited) Hi Guyz, I have been posting here links that, there is a thread here on XDA that helps and guide's you to change the location of the icons on your status bar, like: battery, signal tower on left, you only need to edit the systemUI.apk, let me know if someone is interested i will upload it. I manage to do it with help of a guy on xda "Thegrammarfreak" Below is the screenshot: {i didnt have any screenshot app, so i just tooked from my dell venue}, pardan me for the untideness) Edited October 24, 2011 by jitin sharma

Guest Papi-jj Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 Not to discretit things but that looks awful messy Lol
Guest dflohr Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 Ok, I solved my issue of the browser not going into mobile mode, which caused not being able to download apps from getjar, and downloading latest swype update (was getting 'There was a data error, likely due to a bad network connection. Please try again.') I simply edited the web_user_agent string in the /res/values/strings.xml within framework-res.apk to "Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.3; en-us; Dell Streak Build/GRI40) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1" Here is how to apply this fix: 1. Download this framework-res.apk to your device 2. Using root explorer copy the downloaded file and navigate to /system/framework 3. Rename the original (one already there) framework-res.apk to framework-res.apk.bak [basically we're just adding .bak extension so you have a backup of the original incase you want to revert or something goes wrong] (its normal for some apps to FC at this point) 4. Paste the framework-res.apk file you downloaded, tap and hold it and select permissions. You want to set the permissions to 'rw-r--r--' that means have Read & Write boxes checked for owner, and only the Read box checked for Group and Others, it should look like this (but say framework-res.apk; image was pulled from a google search): 5. Reboot :D Keep in mind, getting some FCs when you rename the original framework-res.apk is normal. Also you could do this with adb push/pull if you don't have root explorer. Now your browser will be in 'mobile' mode by default. To switch to desktop mode do the following: 1. Enter "about:debug" in the adress bar 2. Menu->More->Settings->UAString (all the way at the bottom) 3. select which mode you'd like to browse in :D To revert to original. Simply use root explorer to navigate to /services/framework delete framework-res.apk and rename framework-res.apk.bak to framework-res.apk (remove the .bak extension we added earlier). Confirm permissions are 'rw-r--r--' and reboot. THANK YOU. Struggled with this one trying to get the new swype going before finding your solution. Worked perfectly.

Guest maxicet Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 (edited) Need some help. I have made changes to the resources.asrc file to enable CRT animation using steps provided on XDA. This part went well. However I am unable to move the file in the framework-res.apk file using any zip utility. Winrar says corrupt zip file. Any help would be appreciated. It worked on Beta 2 (fards) but was very slow due to driver issues. Thanks in advance. Now it works fine....(like Nexus S)..<_< http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1304727 Read first post Edited October 24, 2011 by maxicet
Guest nalpt Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 Update on Rom usage. Wifi seems to have better range than SD191 and gps feels a little faster locking. As for ramdom reebots, had maybe one. I can't install tha framework-res.apk, even on a fresh flash: crash and burn everytime and have to reflash, which means I gave up for now since I don't want to try ADB push. Juice Defender 3.8 caused several FC and reeboted into lockscreen. Upon rebboting into locksrcreen it entered a rebbot loop, which I managed to break by unlocking the lockscreen and quickly unistalling JD. Afterwords, I entered into rrotmanager and tried to erase every instance of JD.apk I found. Since this issue, I have a situation whichn is more of a nuisance than anything, because it doesn't seem top affected anything: when the streak boots up it shows de Dell logo, the boot animation and the ANDROID. At this point, instead of going into the pin unlock screen, it cycles back to the android boot animation, goes to ANDROID and finally into the pin unlock screen. Before the JD incident, the boot sequence did not loop the animation twice. Anyone have a solution or similar issue? Like I said, its a hindrance because boot up time is longer, but seems to have no other consequence.
