I love the new 2.4.2.2 Its awesome!

BTW is there any chance of getting StreakLight back as a preloaded app? I use that so often.

Experience with 2.4.2.2 so far:

+ GPS working again (!)

+ lock screen animation back

- phone number formatting problem occuring again (only US-English available)

The rest is running great before. Thanks for the fast updates and get some sleep

EDIT: Fixed phone number formatting with an app called "MoreLocale2". Works even after uninstalling the app

How did u get GPS working. My the GPS symbol doesn't even show up in the status bar.

I just flashed the new version of this rom. Haven't done anything else. Worked out of the box for me (after update to 2.4.2.2)...

Reporting back pb my Facebook/Twitter/Browser issues. Facebook and Twitter are still Force Closing. Tried Factory resets before and after flashing and also tried clearing cache. Browser world done, for now. Will keep testing out this 2.4.2.2.

Could you please elaborate on how you did your update?

Which rom did you have installed previously?

Did you do a full clean of cache, factory reset etc, or simple overlay?

Cheers, and thank you Steve - I'm going to start campaigning directly with Dell to have them send you a year's developer salary... You've done more for them than an entire department as far as I'm concerned - and probably more good than a good few of their marketing employees! Sheesh

OK, I had a beautifully stable v2.4.1... Installed v2.4.2.2 with a simple clearing of delvik cache (no factory reset) and everything looking good so far. Will check the GPS and report back.

The close screen animation doesn't seem to be in effect, is there a setting somewhere, which needs to be enabled?

Cheers

very likely yes its due to kernel since i havent added tun or vpn modules yet

If you can provide me the tun.ko and vpnservices.apk, can i use this method to get the vpn working >> http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1224228 ......

Also can i use the same two files for streakdroid 2.4 ?

Help is appreciated ....

about gps, I encounter the problem (no gps icon when checking/unchecking use gps satellite, google map or any nav software can't see the gps) back in 2.4. I updated to 2.4.2 and I saw the gps icon, I can also see that google map can see it just fine. So I assume it is fixed. I then started bringing back apps thru titanium backup and then when I came back to navdroid (my gps software) and google map it is telling me to "Please enable a My Location source in system settings" but when I do check the "use gps satellite..." nothing happens.

I then go ahead and flash 2.4.1 and the gps problem went away (navdroid and google map can use gps just fine). Just now I flashed 2.4.2.2 and gps problem came back again.

Apart from the gps problem, this ROM is fantastic, everything is working well (the camera problem with 2.4.1 is indeed fixed).

Thanks dj_steve and fards for this rom.

Yes, can confirm the GPS settings don't seem to be recognised by any apps other than Google Maps.

I switched off animations in display settings, switched them back on, but still no screen fade animation - this could require a full factory reset?

I'm loving the new colour scheme in settings icons. Awesome work Steve.

CRT animation not working in 2.4.2.2

Stephen, another request if possible. Would it be possible to get settings toggles in the notification dropdown like cyanogen and miui.

Regards

Have you searched the market for an app to do this? I'm sure I've seen one in the past.

Also, I use SiMi Clock Widget, with Settings launched by touching the time... so it's a one-touch option from my home screen. It also has a battery percentage readout which is very useful. Recommended.

All I am worried about is a stable rom and DJ Steve is doing a great job of it. It irks me when people ask for small things like hackers keyboard or crt animation. These are thingsu can get on the market and do yourself. Don't bother the man with lame options. He has just done the amazing by releasing three updates in one day. Lets see Dell or any other company provide that type of service. So give the guy a break and let him fix what's more important like GPS.

+1 on this, GPS is the *only* issue I can see needs fixing... everything else is rock solid, battery life looks fabulous also!
