Guest hecatae Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Drivers work here on windows 7 64 bit, xp 32 bit, and linux
Guest cmberry20 Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 (edited) ok. what did you (or anyone else) do in order to get Superboot/Clockworkmod installed? Edited November 16, 2011 by cmberry20
Guest cmberry20 Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Will do. But in the mean time has anyone got any ideas why the drivers don't work for me? Windows 7 64bit refuses to use/install the drivers from the android SDK. When I force them I get the message that the file is for 32bit O/S not 64. So how the hell are people using these drivers on their 64 O/Ss??

So how the hell are people using these drivers on their 64 O/Ss?? Ok I tried to reproduce the same thing here and I must say I went in circles a lot  What I THNK it fixed was uninstall all drivers I had from before, go on programs under CP and uninstall anything that had to do with ZTE(drivers), connect phone back, install, go to the created folder and under /drivers, run the 32 or 64 installer from there. Hope it helps... if it doesn't send me your TeamViewer ID and I'll try to help you as I did with 10min ago with someone :P
Guest cmberry20 Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Currently at work, so will try later this afternoon. What I THNK it fixed was uninstall all drivers I had from before, go on programs under CP and uninstall anything that had to do with ZTE(drivers), connect phone back, install, go to the created folder and under /drivers, run the 32 or 64 installer from there Once all drivers have been removed, you say connect the phone & 'install' - install what/which driver? Then you say go to the 'created folder' - is this the driver from the android google sdk??

Guest 0mniknightz Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 So you want to unlock your OMC/Skate? You’ve come to the right place! IF YOU UNLOCKED BEFORE THE MAC ADDRESS FIX GO HERE All the stuff in the tutorial is simplified by me but the full credit for unlock has to go to xiaoyaoswim who originally posted this method here and also to John W who figured out how to save the WiFi MAC address. Please help him get a new OMC - he kind of messed up his old one - Donate to him: <a rel="nofollow external" title="External link" class="bbc_url" href="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_donations&business=5WQFB76AHU5TE&lc=GB&item_name=donation%20to%20my%20new%20OMC&currency_code=GBP&bn=PP%2dDonationsBF%3abtn_donateCC_LG%2egif%3aNonHosted"><img class="bbc_img" alt="Posted Image" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/GB/i/btn/btn_donateCC_LG.gif"/></a> I HAVE UNFORTUNTLEY BEEN UNABLE TO TEST THIS MYSELF BUT SEVERAL PEOPLE REPORT IT WORKING SO THERE SHOULD BE NO PROBLEMS. HOWEVER THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF LOSING WARRANTY. YOU SHOULD INSTALL THESE DRIVERS FIRST - http://www.multiupload.com/BQ7VQOQA4L Google "QPST 2.7 Build 366". Click the first link and download the file beside "QPST 2.7 Build 366" and install it. Download this file and unzip it.Connect your phone to your computer and make sure that you have USB Debugging turned on Go into “Preparation” folder and run the “install-recovery-windows.bat”. This should flash stock recovery and reboot the phone. Shut the phone down Remove your battery and disconnect the USB cableNow as you connect the phone to your computer press the volume down button. Don’t let go of the volume button until “FTM” comes up on your phone. You installed QPST in the first step. Now in the Start menu find "Software Download" which was installed by QPST.Click "Backup" on the utility and choose where to save the "QCN" file Go into the Unlock folder of the extracted zip file and run “download.exe” If you are sure you want to unlock press “START”! Sit through some hairy moments as it flashes itself and unlocks the phone. Go back to the "Software Download" utility.and click "Restore". Find the .qcn file you saved and restore it. Remove your USB cable, put the battery back in and any SIM of your choice – your phone is now unlocked!!Power on the phone and turn on USB Debugging. OPTIONAL – go to “POST-UNLOCK FOLDER” and run the bat file again – this installs ClockworkModYou now have a fully working unlocked Orange Monte Carlo / ZTE Skate!! Hi, sorry to bother you again, just a small doubt, if u remembered i unlocked my phone using your method and suceed. But now i only notice a small matter, just now when i check my phone status, it show that my phone number is unknown (wtf lol).. anyone have the same problem?
Guest fra@230 Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Non andrà in FTM di recupero personalizzato, è necessario il magazzino. now its ok...tnx
Guest juless Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Awesome, it all worked. Thanks very much.

Guest hotrocks72 Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Item 5 is not mentioned in the tutorial. Is it required all the time or only if there`s problems? XV132 hex editor can be downloaded here. My link If you want to try QPST again try this as it was giving me lots of errors and failed to back up until I tried this method. 1 Stock recovery on phone. 2 Boot into FTM and once in that mode put battery back in. 3 Start QPST configuration - in ports tab click add new port and pick the usb one that is your phone - in IP Server tab tick (accept client connections) go to top and select start clients - software download. 4 on new window got to backup tab then browse in line with the drop down list, in new window at bottom filename just type in there backup and at the top were it says save in select somewhere you can find it then click start, once finished. 5 open saved "backup" file with xv132 - file - open (locate file) then click search - find and in hex string type 11 22 33 44 55 66 then ok then search - replace and 11 22 33 44 55 66 should be in the top hex box and put your mac in bottom hex box and click replace all - save. 6 Back with QPST click restore tab browse to file you just edited -select - ok then start. 7 once finished pull out usb cable boot phone. All the files you need for stock recovery and clockwork mod are in the first post follow every step down to and including 7 then do above then 15 Power on the phone and turn on USB Debugging. 16 OPTIONAL – go to “POST-UNLOCK FOLDER” and run the bat file again – this installs ClockworkMod
Guest hotrocks72 Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Thanks all for the replies regarding my *983*0# working after unlock query. I`m currently using the stock orange rom and was wondering if are there any custom roms where this feature continues to work
Guest cmberry20 Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Couldnt get driver to work, so i did a system restore & reinstalled - this time the driver worked fine. No idea why it messed up do bad. Anyway - off to install a custom ROM......
Guest putbinoot Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Item 5 is not mentioned in the tutorial. Is it required all the time or only if there`s problems? That reply was to someone in this thread who had forgot to back up (item number 9 of the tutorial) the QCN file if you follow the instructions completely in the first post you will have no problems.
Guest m mcgive2 Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 I am so happy that there has been an unlock solution, at last I will be able to make use of my Monte Carlo as I can not even get a signal with orange throughout most of my area.
Guest Riz1 Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Hi, I am going to attempt to unlock my OMC tomorrow. I am quite new to this. The most exciting thing I ever did with my LG540 was to upgrade it from Android 1.6 to 2.1 ! Back to the subject, can someone please clarify the following: 1. As the phone will have the stock Orange ROM, would I still have to follow step 4 which is to, ' Go into “Preparation” folder and run the “install-recovery-windows.bat”. This should flash stock recovery and reboot the phone' ? 2. After I having flashed the telephone, is the ROM I will have flashed the one provided by Orange, or is it the Original Android ROM as issued on the ZTE Skate, i.e. without the Orange's bloatware and quite minimalistic? Thanks.

Update, someone answered already, failed again. ;) Although step 4 would have no negative impact. Edited November 16, 2011 by David Mo
Guest David Mo Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 (edited) How can you do that :( I'd never keep my Skate over my Streak! Solution...get bigger pockets :P Getting rid of the Streak is unlikely, it's just a touch big in its Otterbox Defender though I don't trust myself to use it without. Plus, it travels SO much better on the roof of my car whilst wearing it! It's done about 2 miles up there on more than one occasion. Edited November 16, 2011 by David Mo
Guest wrtease Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 as they say try try try again sooner or later you will do it.
Guest JamesMcD Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Hi Guys. I hope you can help, iv just about read every post in this thread. I got a new OMC tonight (16/11/11), followed the guide by tilal, unfortunatly I did not write down any details of my phone including MAC code, I completed step 8 but didnt click "start" and thus the QCN file was not backed up. I have looked at the threads on here about recovering your MAC if you didnt backup your QCN (e.g page 14, post: #262 by putbinoot - and the pinned topic) but from what I read, they assume you DID write down your MAC address. I have rebooted the phone (orange stock) and it comes up. Wifi MAC address: 11:22:33:44:55:66 Bluetooth address: Unavalible Where do I go from here to get it back? Many Thanks!

Well you don't REALLY need your old MAC Address because is quite hard(almost impossible) to find 2 same mac addresses in the same lan. Therefore you can use a random, but valid, one from here: http://sqa.fyicenter...s_Generator.php Edited November 17, 2011 by D3abL3
