Guest hecatae Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 All the cefs.mbn are exactly the same. I wonder what causes the lock? gone a bit further than that, all skate and blade cefs.mbn are the same, apart from the v880 cefs.mbn curetail pls http://www.multiupload.com/ZBSH1N8ZVA GB_CURETAIL_P743V1.0.0B10.zip (119.65 MB)
Guest MarcinusMarcinusus Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 thanks.anything for zte skate v960
Guest unrandomsam Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 I need this one please: OPT_P743TV1.0.0B09.zip Since they have cefs.mbn that means it can be used to lock right? You can use any cefs.mbn They are all identical. You could have just done ztepack -x any official image.bin and then add a blade cefs.mbn and put all the files into the blade patched installer.

Guest xiaoyaoswim Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 All the cefs.mbn are exactly the same. I wonder what causes the lock? I think I was wrong to suspect cefs.mbn. It could be the process of runing FTM flasher cause unlock, Kind of altering NV although it backup and restore it?
Guest tilal6991 Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 I think I was wrong to suspect cefs.mbn. It could be the process of runing FTM flasher cause unlock, Kind of altering NV although it backup and restore it? I don't think so. I think you were right. Hoever I think the cefs.mbn on the phone and the one given by ZTE are completely different. I suspect this beacuse I raked through nvitems in the past and there was nothing there for an unlock.
Guest unrandomsam Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 All the cefs.mbn are exactly the same. I wonder what causes the lock? If the lock is installed afterwards along with setting wifi / bt mac addresses. and the blade flasher only re adds NVITEMS it knows about then would explain the situation we have. ZTE has released too much stuff to ever really put the cat back into the bag. (Unless they use a genuinely different cefs.mbn and don't leak it). You should be able to change with QPST those NVITEMS without any protection if you have the ZTE SPC code. Its possible that that code that glossywhite had can be used to set the wifi MAC again just have to find out what nvitem it is (Perhaps won't be protected like the lock).
Guest xiaoyaoswim Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 but would the tpt have flashed the cefs.mbn? I think cefs.mbn couldn't be included in a image.bin file.
Guest tilal6991 Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 I think cefs.mbn couldn't be included in a image.bin file. Might be worth trying. Although we need a guinea pig.

It could be the process of runing FTM flasher cause unlock, Kind of altering NV although it backup and restore it? I think it backs it up resets the whole thing (because its wrong). and then restores what it knows about. Think thats what the flasher does at 99% if the nvitems are borked (Thats why you sometimes don't need to have stock recovery to do gen1->gen2 but the reverse isn't true.)

And you wouldn't even need any cefs.mbn. And that would tie in with the Qualcomm explanation given by ZTE. And the fact that the MAC adress is missing. Beacase it was present in nvitems
Guest MarcinusMarcinusus Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 In my opinion is no lock in the system Lock are checked before you load the system. It must be somewere in device booting mechanism. FTM
Guest unrandomsam Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 I think cefs.mbn couldn't be included in a image.bin file. It could be included but it wouldn't be flashed. The only thing that can do cefs as far as I know is - armprgZTE.bin (Even that has some limitations). (I think that file is a standard qcom armprg.hex with support for zte's flash chips). It could be just a ramdownloader though. Its possible to hack armprgZTE.bin allow to read the whole flash.
Guest MarcinusMarcinusus Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 MaC address is missing cos wifi card is wiped during unlock and system cannot read it after.simple as wire

Beacase it was present in nvitems I don't see a reason to not include the cefs.mbn (There are situations its needed). But I guess someone could try it. (Recoverying via the v880 tool and the windows flasher would end up unlocked with the lost mac anyway). You also need it to do the recovery with the v880 tool from when its stuck in download mode (At least on the blade otherwise it fails and you cannot get into FTM mode.)
Guest unrandomsam Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 MaC address is missing cos wifi card is wiped during unlock and system cannot read it after.simple as wire There is no card there is a chip that doesn't have any nvram of its own afaik. (No reason for the blade flasher to be doing anything with that). If it did have NVRAM there is no way that the people writing flasher would want it to be anything other than just left intact.
Guest Indiant Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 I think cefs.mbn couldn't be included in a image.bin file. In the official Monte carlo T card upgrading instruction & software package on the ZTE webpage UK, there is no cefs.mbn in the image.bin.
