Its strange how everyone's having slightly different results but for me Battery is becoming a slight problem. I'm currently on Saturdays (17/12) build so have no problems with Home Button etc fully stable ROM. Last night I put my Skate on charge before going to sleep. Now obviously at some point in the early hours the Battery became Full. I'm not sure if it started draining or what but when I woke up (7am) it was around 90% looking at the bar.

Its now 9.30am and I have 52% Battery left and i've only been on web/facebook for 20 mins and sent 1 text. I think perhaps WIFI is draining it along with GMAIL notifications. Gonna turn both of them off (I have unlimited 3G) and see if I see an improvment. I should note that I have the brightness on 100% and have not had a regular charging pattern these last few days. Plus I do keep checking the clock on the lock screen because it looks so great

...how is everyone else's battery doing on this ROM?

Probably a daft question, have you wiped the battery stats in clockwork? Trying out the various builds hammered mine yesterday, so I've just completed the power soak routine, wiped the stats and its great again now. Had average use for the last hour, Wi-Fi, 3g, browser, XBMC remote, only gone down to 92%.

Not work

-incoming call

-home button

-sound

-most app

-language menu is empty

WHO said this is daily used?????

Calm down, the previous version was a candidate for daily use, however last night's uploaded version appears to have unfortunately introduced more bugs in it, hence he is making a fresh from scratch build. Give the guy a break, coding roms isn't exactly child's play!

Please Google ICS and go to the wikipedia link and have a look at the new stuff under ICS. No it is not possible as addons as it is deep within the framework of the ROM.

And in any situation you can ask - what is the point of a newer version? You can keep doing this and no software would evolve. Google could have stopped at Android 1.0 and said what is the point of a future version?

sorry I may have worded my post incorrectly, I mean basically are the benefits of this ics rom worth losing things off previous stable builds? 'what are the benefits' not of ics stable release but this version. understand it is work in progress and you have and are doing an amazing job, but I'm not sure I'm ready to flash this that's all. sorry if my original post wasn't clear .

@ PedroVader: I have a question about this. I changed ROMs allot and hanged my phone to my computer allot... So I didn’t charge/drain it completely every time. And the battery drains much faster now.

I’m currently still on Cyanogenmod7 so if you drain it completely, then recharge it completely and wipe the battery stats in clockworkmod. Could that make it better, or is it only the percentage showing wrong?

@ Atomix: Do you ever sleep? :P it seems like your online 24/7

So Lalit is only 15? blink.gif I guess he wont be having trouble finding a job when he is older!

@robneymcplum Well if you feel you are unready to flash your phone with buggy software. Don't, most of us are just flashing to report bugs for tilal to fix anyway..

I couldn't use it as my daily rom yet, but I test everybuild for atleast half hour to report anything that's not known. :)

USB definitely doesn't charge as well as mains, more of a trickle.

I don't drain it completely, just do the same as I did with my Blade:

Charge to 100%, turn off and charge again for 30 minutes or so, power on and charge again for about the same time.

Generally I repeat twice, then boot into clockwork, wipe stats and I'm good to go.

Heh, I have Tapatalk set up to send me notifications during the day for a few threads. If I see a post I can help with I just go ahead and do so, it's no different nor more time consuming than sending a text message or email to me, and I have no qualms paying forward the help I received when I'm out and about ;).

I think @HCDRjacob is only a little older, definitely under 20 for sure, he's quite a wizard too

Nope, I've changed mine, first text I sent, dragged down notification bar and adjusted it, time zone was already GMT on mine, used network provided values.

I've been looking at the tpt's to resize the partitions for this ROM over at

I was thinking of either option 2 or 4, as my current layout would fit these 2 (I think)

Anybody more skilled in this than me have a better grasp on it?

I wouldn't resize the cache partition unless cm9 definitely redirects it.

Ran df command through terminal emulator, that shows cache as 57m, with only 1m in use (at the time I ran it), so I'd guess at option 2 with 35m might do, but you're right about redirection, need to be sure first.

Tilal, does/can this ROM redirect?

I'm pretty sure that it does. I think it's a feature of ICS. And anyway - if it doesn't work you can always go back.

I took the plunge and went for option 2 with 35mb cache, seems OK, got all my apps installed nicely, and loads of room to spare now.

Is it weird to say it seems faster?

Not really - if you have more space for data and cache is being redirected to data then it makes sense.

Afaik cache is not being redirected.

@Pedro: With Root Explorer open /cache and verify free space and total space please.

If it is being redirected it should say the same as /data, else it will say total space about 35Mb.
