Afaik cache is not being redirected.

@Pedro: With Root Explorer open /cache and verify free space and total space please.

If it is being redirected it should say the same as /data, else it will say total space about 35Mb.

Not got root explorer, but this screen shot from terminal should do the trick:

post-785654-0-83707400-1324419107_thumb.

I'm guessing no redirect?

Yup, no redirect...as you can see it has total space of 35Mb, it should give you 205Mb(like /data) if it was being redirected to it.

@Lalit, does this ROM have init.d support?

Gotcha, now it makes sense. Steep learning curve, I'm going deeper with this one than I ever did with the old Bladeunsure.gif

Just while we are waiting for Tilal to work his magic (a BIG thanks there! We are all very grateful)

I was having a look over in the Blade forum and came across this thread which clears up a lot of why the last build had more faults in it than the previous one. Since it is CM9-Alpha5 that I assume Tilal uses as a base then it follows that the problems would be the same.

http://android.modaco.com/topic/349555-ics-aosp-user-discussion/page__st__140

Maybe sticking with alpha4 would be a better bet for now? (Until CM9 is alittle more stable of course)

Hey guys. This is a CyanogenMod 9 port for the ZTE Skate. This is a replacement for my CyanogenMod 7 Nightly builds. This is ICS!!!

SEE SECOND POST FOR MORE INFO!

NOW STABLE ENOUGH TO BE USED AS A DAILY DRIVER!!!!!!!!!!!

If you like my work please click the "Plus" symbol at the bottom right of this post or please donate below!<form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post" style="font-family: &quot;Trebuchet MS&quot;,sans-serif;">

<input name="cmd" type="hidden" value="_s-xclick" /><input name="hosted_button_id" type="hidden" value="2MLN4RHE6P49C" /><input alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online." border="0" name="submit" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_GB/i/btn/btn_donate_SM.gif" type="image" /><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_GB/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" /></form>

FLASH ORDER - EVEN IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THIS ROM INSTALLED:

  1. ROM
  2. Wipe data
  3. Google Apps
  4. Reboot

Download:

19/12/2011 - http://minus.com/mrmj48dfw#4

Google Apps (Market, Gmail, etc.) - i.minus.com/1324329758/asm92mIBmeIaTOinq1YX5Q/dQVWHFiudlrD1.zip

I have followed the install steps to the letter. My phone reboots and after 5 minutes or so, I get a Welcome screen with an image of a waving Droid, the word Welcome, a small tab or twizzle icon and a USB symbol with the word Parent next to it.

I can not get past this stage, the only thing that seems to do anything is the USB icon which takes me to the emergency dialer.

Any ideas of what if anything I can do to fix?

Cheers,

pittmab

Can't wait to test 3D with this ROM...

I tried 2D with AtOmIc @ 940Mhz and got 277, tried with this ROM @ 940Mhz as well and got 635. :o

General score(without 3D) with AtOmIc @ 940Mhz got 1395, with this ROM @ 940Mhz as well got 1744.

Root I'd broken. It is a cm problem not a skate specific one. If you go to rom manager and manual flash override and then download rom and supersuser and choose the first binary only one then let it download. Then boot into recovry and manually flash it. Super user should then work.

Ok, now seriously.....

My phone is different from all of you or something?

I have no root problems, no reboots, no wifi issues....

I had the root problem but I don't have any of the other issues people are describing

I'm starting to think it might be hardware, I've mentioned before that I can't overclock past 940 while others can go higher, can't be kernel related cos its the same with all of them. ZTE must have used so much different kit during manufacturing, there's too much variety between supposedly identical handsets.

Root is fine, Wi-Fi is working, I've had a couple of reboot issues, (but that's been overclock related cos I can't leave well enough alone)

Different handsets will have different oc capabilities, for example my osf couldn't go 1mhz over 600 without completely shutting down, while others frequently topped 740+, however I do agree with you that there may be something more to it than software at work here relating to all these different experiences.

If the problem is hardware, problem should be resolved as a unique rom 2.3.5 (for exemple) turns on all skate phones

Overclocking is not an acurate science.

Tilal, do you arrive to make something with new build as last one is buggy?

Thanks

is there anything to distinguish different phone hardware? Also is it worth setting up a common partition table for us all to follow?Did anyone understand Tilals last post, I think the pressure is getting to him. started sounding like Yoda. Get some rest mate you are doing a fine job.

Probably a daft question, have you wiped the battery stats in clockwork? Trying out the various builds hammered mine yesterday, so I've just completed the power soak routine, wiped the stats and its great again now.

Thanks PedroVader haven't tried that yet really been busy with christmas etc but will try this tonight... Could you please write a quick step-by-step how to do this?, I'm not 100% yet with clockwork...

Something that is maybe related to tilal's CM9 port or maybe not. I cannot determine by myself so... Do you think it is also affected? There seems to be a bug directly in the kernel...http://phandroid.com...ttery-life-bug/

Interesting link. Although on my stats its the screen thats says its using the most of the battery. I normally have it on 100% but have turned it right down today because i'll be out and about and won't be able to charge. I'm definately seeing a huge drain on battery compared to the Stock Orange Gingerbread I was using before this ROM (getting about 40% less battery). Although hopefully PedroVader's advice may help me. I really wanna keep this ROM on permanetely, I have saturdays 17th december's ROM build (not the latest) and its 99% stable, I have access to Root features (increased CPU) and Home button task manager works great.

I really like Android 4, the ICS styling is fantastic and makes my skate feel really classy and expensive. But missing my camera with christmas coming up. Also now seem to be getting Low Memory Issues? Am I ok to delete all the developer apps on this ROM?

Hi fella,

Wiping the stats is straightforward enough, just boot into clockwork, drill down to advanced, and it's 2nd option I think, you can't miss it.

As far as space is concerned, take a look back at my recent posts, I've flashed a tpt with more space for data, fixed me up nicely. I read somewhere on here that deleting the system apps doesn't really free up useable space, unless you take them out first and replace them with other apps you do want before flashing the ROM.

OK. You know how I said the last build was smooth? That was nothing. The next build has completely slick and fast animations. It will be posted ASAP (but no specific times)

You have built it from scratch or fixed what was messed up in last release?

As I mentioned all is working fine apart of Copilot 8 (my favourite gps application). Sygic Aura work sort of OK.

Does anyone tried other gps apps on this ICS port ? Or nobody bothered ? Any experience ? I am using GPS on daily basis, so I'd rather stay with Gingerbread than switch to ICS.

It would be very pity because ROM is amooth, nice looking and very posh ;)

Why touch screen doesn't work in this port ? I have had no issue with Eclair, Gingerbread ?

Is this hurde possible to jump off ?
