Root tutorial

Hi folks,

I've just bought an Advent Vega and I'd like to root it and install a custom rom. Can someone point me to the best tut and the files that I'll need? I'm quite confident in rooting as I did my HTC Desire and also a few of my mates so all I need is a tut and I'm off!!

Thats the rom part sorted. What I need is a tut for rooting it. I've used z4root but there's no way of knowing if it worked apart from the apps say so.

What are you trying to root it for ?

Roms can be programmed just by enabling debug mode under settings -> applications -> development then use AUDI to install the relevant drivers for adb over usb on your pc then you can flash a fair number of those from your pc then use recovery(for those that include clockwork recovery app, modaco doesn't in it's basic form) mode to install any further roms

Thats me got vegacomb installed. One more question, though, is there any way to boot the Vega into clockwwork recovery without having to boot it up? On my HTC Desire all I do is press volume down and power and I can boot straight into it, is there this kind of option on the Vega?

Sorry there is no way to boot into clockworkmod recovery without first booting into android. You can get into NVflash recovery without booting into android but this is for pushing the roms using adb and a PC.
