sd to internal storage

Hi all, someone from work just got one off these tablets and for some reason when you try to copy some videos off a sd card to the internal storage it won't. Keeps coming up with permission denied. It isn't rooted by the way and running 3.1 stock rom. I was wondering how would you go about copying them over? I have had android devices before and never had that problem. Thanks
