Guest Wacky.ddw Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 Here's the zip: http://min.us/m30oNpWq2 No, you don't need SDK to use only ADB, you can download my app(see my signature) and open CMD from it. http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=532719 http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=517874 THANKS!!! if i had to do this on my own it would take me ages :D I will start trying this tonight if i can fix my main computer first because it started bootlooping yesterday. And i have no clue why cant even get into bios. And the motherboard is only a month old...
Guest Wacky.ddw Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 (edited) I still have a little problem i have the double splashscreen isue LINK. If i would make a full backup it would still have the double splashscreen right? Is there a command in ADB to get rid of the first splash screen, and extract the second so i allso have the stock splash. Then for making the backup are these the right steps?: 1) Going into clockworkmod, doing the 3 wipes and flashing the Nandroid. 2) Doing the wipes again just to make sure all settings are gone. 3) Flash the "stock_recovery_signed.zip" you gave me. 4) Clicking "Reboot into recovery" in ADB made easy. Or boot with pwr + vol down to get in stock recovery. 5) Clcking "Open CMD for ADB commands" in ADB made easy. and type "fastboot boot C:\CWM\clockworkmod.img" 7) Make a backup in Clockworkmod on the phone? BTW: Nice job on ADB made easy :D so actually i could have allso flashed the stock recovery with the "Flash recovery to phone" button? Edited December 6, 2011 by Wacky.ddw

BTW: Nice job on ADB made easy :D so actually i could have allso flashed the stock recovery with the "Flash recovery to phone" button? As for the double splash screen I suffer from that as well and Idk how to possibly fix it... As for your questions: 1) No need for wipes, when restore it automatically wipes; 2) No need for the above; 3) Correct; 4) Reboot into recovery with the program or the command "adb reboot recovery" cuz once you've stock recovery power + vol down will get you in FTM; 5) Correct; 6) Correct. :) For the "BTW", I told you this like 3 times in previous posts lol <_< You can flash any recovery with "fastboot flash recovery <path-to-recovery>" or boot into it with "fastboot boot <path-to-recovery>". But yes you could've used the "Flash recovery to phone" option.
Guest Wacky.ddw Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 (edited) Yea i know you told me but i had no idea what you where talking about back then, and as you sure noticed allready im an idot :P Ok i flashed the stockrom then the recovery. But when i press "Open CMD for ADB commands" And type "fastboot boot C:\CWM\clockworkmod.img" I get < waiting for device > when try to type something like fastboot reboot-bootloader i get the same. And the phone does nothing. So i rebooted. So i tought i probably have the wrong drivers so i downloaded these LINK. And there is only one way i know to install te drivers And thats this one: I clicked the "install-recovery-windows.bat" from the r4-4.0.1.4-skate-clockworkmod. Wich rebooted the phone to wich i asume is the bootloader. (freeze on first picture) then i could install the drivers. so i canceled the installation of clockworkmod. And typed adb reboot. so now i have all the correct drivers installed. But when im in stock recovery and type "fastboot boot C:\CWM\clockworkmod.img" i still get < waiting for device > Edited December 6, 2011 by Wacky.ddw
Guest D3abL3 Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 Issue adb reboot bootloader and then fastboot boot... Last resource let me remotely access your pc via teamviewer and let me try.
Guest Wacky.ddw Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 (edited) Issue adb reboot bootloader and then fastboot boot... Last resource let me remotely access your pc via teamviewer and let me try. Once i do that the phone disconnects from the PC and doest boot anything when i do "adb reboot recovery" i get < waiting for device > When i disconnect the phone auto reboots. When i do reboot into recovery then my pc doesnt find the phone while in recovery... So i cant boot from there into CWM eighter. Adb reboot bootloader > fasboot flash recovery c:\CWM\clockworkmod.img > fastboot reboot. worked. So i think im doing something wrong. Because once i do "fastboot boot recovery c:\CWM\clockworkmod.img" the phone does what it says in the picture but it disconnects from the pc. Edit: wont it be easyer to take the backup replace the recovery.img and edit the md5sum or something like that. Or just making a flashable rom. made from the backup with only the recovery changed. Guest dibbles Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 @Wacky.ddw - maybe I'm not following what you want to do AND achieve with your phone...? Are you returning it to where you bought it from, and believe that it needs to be in its original condition as it was bought..? What actual fault, if at all, have you got with the phone..?

Are you returning it to where you bought it from, and believe that it needs to be in its original condition as it was bought..? What actual fault, if at all, have you got with the phone..? I want to make a stockrom or nandroid so if people flash it they have there waranty back. The problem is few people who have the medion P4310. So there is no downloadeble stock yet. And no there is nothing wrong with my phone, but i just want to have it ready for incase i need the waranty. Allso a friend (phizer) wants to sell his phone, but to do that it needs to be at stock, so the one he sell it to has 35 months waranty. Alltough he can just flash the backup and then the recovery D3abL3 made. But still it would be better to have it for people who need it in the future. And then there is still one problem. Guest dibbles Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 ...ah so you haven't got a problem per se you are preparing for a problem which may or may not arise. Did you and your friend not take advantage of the offer here... when the developer suggested Two of you (Wacky.ddw & Phizer) have the same device, so if Wacky.ddw installs clockwork mod and does a backup, then we can make an insecure boot partition that Phizer can install on his device and dump the recovery partition... putting the two together will give up a full rom dump.... ..in fact reading that thread it seems that the work offered by Sebastian404 provides a solution. FWIW I have sold phones, with far more interest in them, with a custom ROM than std and also returned phones for warranty repairs which had been customised.

FWIW I have sold phones, with far more interest in them, with a custom ROM than std and also returned phones for warranty repairs which had been customised. As you can see below and on the next page, we had no clue what you guys where talking about back then. I only joined that day so i never touched something android before that day. And i still dont understand it actually. If i find someone with an untouched device (or my phone with the original recovery flashed back), i clould hang it to my pc and do: "adb reboot bootloader"> "fastboot flash boot insecure_boot.img" > "fastboot reboot" And then i dont get it :P now the phone boots to an unsecure mode. Can you make a backup from there then? And the backup you make wont it have a different boot.img... Or do you have to combine the 2 together. The CWM dump and the dump from the insecure one. But combining wil give a corrupt md5 sum right? Its still to confusing :P Edited December 7, 2011 by Wacky.ddw
Guest D3abL3 Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 (edited) Weird, this phone doesn't like fastboot boot... that much. Gets stuck and after unplug USB it boots normally  Anyway, restore this and let me know how it went. I replaced recovery.img from the Medion's backup which had CWR in it and changed the md5 so now this is a full stock backup. Edited December 7, 2011 by D3abL3

Checking MD5 sums... MD5 mismatch! What about the methode dibbles mentioned? Or does this allso give a incomplete dump? Because you have to change the boot.img

I didn't read much but from what I read it's about modifying the boot.img and that I'm not confortable with yet.

Anyway, I read all about what you and dibbles were talking, it's about su'ing boot.img in order to dump the rom and by that you get original recovery, BUT that's not needed since we already have the stock recovery.img. Last part to make it all combine is to arrange the md5's... I'll start from the begging, downloading stock rom with cwr and replace recovery.img by the stock one and then re-generate md5's to see if they still look the same or different. But.... now it's coffee time :) P.S.: The stock ROM with CWR is GB_BEL_MEDION_P743V1.0.0B02 , and the one that has stock recovery is GB_CURETAIL_P743V1.0.0B10 (these are from 1st page you posted). Right? Edited December 7, 2011 by D3abL3

Im beginning to think i should have bought it in the uk. there is more support voor the retail ZTE/OMC's. I dont think medion is going to do updates and stuff. And i never should have flashed a new splash because even tough i could go back to the official medion rom the first splash screen is still different. And i cant find it the img's taken from the backup. And the boot img i cant even extract. Edited December 7, 2011 by Wacky.ddw

Right? Yea thats right im pretty sure its the same recovery, the medion had. Wow where did you find that the img? I have bin looking everywhere. But probably i was looking in the wrong places. It works it flashed back the first boot screen to the medion one. Im currently back on bluemonte 1.6 and now it shows: Stock splashscreen > ZTE splashcreen > Bootanimation. THANKS MAN!!! :D What i dont understand is why is it called blade.img? did you make it with the blade splash tool. Allso all splashes i made where called splash.bmp but, if i rename the img to .bmp i can allso open it in windows :D My splashscreens where allways like this: META-INF Splash.bmp Does it just flashes it with a different name or something? Or doesnt it really matter what its called aslong as the META-INF is correct. Wow dude, calm down :D Yes I did it with the blade tools, and got it extracting boot.img. I think it shows 2 logos because you have splash partition(which I gave you to flash) and there's a logo in boot.img(zte logo). I got the restore to work, just restored on my phone, but I made it with clockwork recovery. I'll make a new one with stock recovery and upload it asap. Meanwhile create this folder in your sdcard: /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/Stock_ROM/ Edited December 7, 2011 by D3abL3
Guest Wacky.ddw Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 (edited) Ok did that. LOL :D when i flash this: http://minus.com/mjcaouXcY#1 i get the ZTE logo in between. (On atomicblue) So the ZTE logo is something tillaz put in the rom? I asumed it would be in boot.img but it wouldnt extract. So there is two partitions for splash logo's? Would it be safe to delete one? Because i think its still not right actually. I think when i was on bluemonte 1.8d i had a a custom splash. But when i flashed back to stock i got my stock logo back. Could it be that Atomicblue caused this? Or maybe it was a splash that flashed to the other partition or something Edited December 7, 2011 by Wacky.ddw

Guest Wacky.ddw Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 (edited) Works like a charm, :D but i would do the wipes first. Because it has all your contacts, settings, apps... and acounts inside. I would say i do the wipes and re-rar it but i cant without CWR :P It would be better to wipe it all so it starts with the welcome screen. Only one thing tough if you turn of the phone the battery charging icon is missing. I allso have this on other soms maybe letting the battery complety die and recharge will fix it :s EDIT: this backup still has clockworkmod... Edited December 8, 2011 by Wacky.ddw
