Trip this looks great and I was about to start using it as a daily driver (at least through the weekend to determine if it's stable enough to use on the road for work next week) when I noticed a show-stopper problem for me. I need to set up Exchange ActiveSync for e-mail and I must use a client certificate to do that. On v4 of this alpha I was able to set this up and test connectivity no problem. On v6 I get an infinite loop of PIN security. Steps to re-produce are:

Open e-mail, set up a new account as follows:

- Enter email address

- Enter dummy Password (with Client Cert you don't need the PW)

- Click Manual to manually set up the account

- Select "Exchange" as the type of account

- I enter my domain prior to my username (it bases the username off of your e-mail address)

- I enter the hostname of the mail server

- I click the "Select" button next to the Client Certificate field

- It prompts me (as it did previously) that I must create a PIN prior to loading a client cert so I enter a PIN (let's just say 1111 for argument's sake)

- It prompts me to confirm the PIN, I enter 1111 and click OK

- It prompts me to confirm the PIN, I enter 1111 and click OK

- Repeat indefinitely

Previously it would confirm the PIN and then let me select the file where my client cert is located then ask me for the PW to load the cert (PW of the cert not the PIN above) and then it would load the cert into the OS.

It seems something has changed between v4 and v6 to break this setup. Any thoughts? I also tried wiping and re-loading the ROM, setting up PIN security prior to running the e-mail app but that didn't work either; I get stuck at the same loop (just skip the step where it asks to create the PIN everything else is the same).

Thanks for any help. Now that I think about it; not a show-stopper as I can continue to use 3rd party apps for e-mail but I'd love to have the stock e-mail client.

Excellent! I am going to use that to uninstall "uninstaller" lol Thanks :)

Or use the build in uninstaller, touch and press the app you want to uninstall and drag it into the garbagebin

and let it loose.

Thanks for the nice rom Trip.

Most of my apps are working like:

Total Commander, Wikango, Radardroid, Whatsapp and System Tuner Pro.

I only get problems with root related apps like:

Root System Tool and Quick System Info.

Superuser is installing and working ok

FYI, this same functionality happens if you try to load a cert into the OS from System Settings -> Security -> Install from SD Card

You get the same PIN loop.

Download any font changer on the market then choose your desire font apply it and reboot your device.

One more item (FYI not bitching; I love the ROM I'm just throwing out things as I find them). Once I installed a bunch of apps if I hit Menu then Manage Applications then try to scroll down the list I get a soft-reboot each time. And I've tried one of the two 3rd party apps for e-mail and it doesn't work; going to try the second one.

For an alpha build Alpha6 is great I must say.

Smooth, no fc or lockup since a couple of hours.

And it is faster as expected without hwa.

keep up the good work and hats off!

First reboot while making a call and the proximality screen stays off while on the call so i cant end it:( any fix around this?

And btw there is no 2d accelaration because in the settings background it should be blue gradient with black not fully black

Hey Trip,

I'm having a few problems on alpha 6.

these arent too important, but I would just like to know if they can be changed, and if I can change them on my own.

Firstly, is there no kinetic scrolling in ICS? or is it just this rom? Is there any way I can add it into the rom by myself?

The second thing is playing youtube videos, where I can hear the sound, but I cant see the video. Is this just a problem for me, or is this a ROM problem?

Thanks,

Btw, this ROM is coming along nicely, once the lag disappears, it'll be close to perfect :D

EDIT: Just to add, I have had a couple of random reboots, nothing big though, the ROM loads insanely fast, so it doesn't matter

This ROM is so close to a daily driver for me. This is awesome for an Alpha release.

I have not had a single FC or reboot yet.

Once the camera and bluetooth are working I will probably stay with it. ICS is soooooo nice.

Confirmed on the soft reboot. Great job regardless! This is my new daily rom because the market is fixed. If we can get the overall UI running a bit snappier then it will be better than my old Sense roms from xda. :D
