Dear Tom G,

I have a blade system which is called v880 in China. After checking the system info, I found my system only has 167.45M RAM and 166M ROM? I remembered someone in the forum mentioned, users can unlock the ram to 256M or 512M, Could you provide the instructios about howto ? I also read the thread http://android.modaco.com/topic/327684-28mar-guide-update-to-unlock-256mb-devices-to-512mb-gen1/ ,but seems it only works for Gen1 device, unlucky me has a Gen2. Thanks!

Unfortunately the Blades we have here in China do only have 256 MB of memory, so there's no extra memory to unlock. Trying to use TPT to do that is likely to brick your phone. Personaly I've not had any issues with the smaller amount of memory, but then I've never used a phone with the full 512 to compare it with.

It is normal for the system to report less RAM than the actual amount (some is reserved for low level software before it is measured). If it sais 166MB, then you have 256MB. Unfortunately the Chinese v880 and Russian RTK v8 only have 256MB and there is no spare RAM to unlock. Trying to do so is likely to brick your phone.

The Brazilian model I am not sure about, but take extreme care or you will have a brick. For those with compatible phones, these are the best instructions to unlock RAM: http://android.modaco.com/topic/339048-guide-flashing-firmware-to-bladelibra-via-windows/.

come on guy, our V880 is physical 256RAM, what your've seen 167.45M is because the phone took a part for basic system working.

Nevery try to unlock RAM to 512M, as hedgepigdaniel said, here we have a Russian friend brick his blade with same attempt like you.

However, we can adjust the free rom space, enlarge "data" space to 260M or bigger.

Go http://bbs.hiapk.com and found the V880 BBS, read more and learn more before starting a new tip.

It won't brick you can still TPT again as it is before appsboot.

You can if you want use european cefs.mbn and amss.mbn but you need chinese appsboot.mbn

(Only way to brick is really bad combinations (i.e mixture of gen1/gen2 maybe chinese and european) of the bootloader stuff oemsbl / partition.mbn)

You can't TPT it back if you don't have a copy of the original firmware. Sure its likely that it will work using some combination of the firmware we have on this forum, but there is a chance that it won't.
