Guest TripNRaVeR Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 Thanks for clearing that up i was led to believe otherwise ,but i will say for me at least updateing to the new firmware and radio to match with included ril has given me much better battery life ,placebo? Let me tell you another thing, in most roms i dont match the complete ril to the radio. I cant recall if i did it in this version, but mostly you dont find the official ril in my roms. If you verify the filesizes you (should) notice my files are smaller. If you say better battery life then you must have some numbers and facts to support youre oppinion right? And i dont mean some random tought "i got 6 hours moderate usage" no i mean hard fact, straight to the point. If you have those and you do this with YOUR phone and you test different radio's and you use the phone EXACTLY the same way everytime then you will see that is bullshit and there wont be much difference. I didnt notice anything to improve battery life in any (new) HTC files. Just another fairytail that i dont belive in. Guess what? I hardly have troubles with my phone and it flashes maybe 20-30 times a day. And if read trough forums its stunning how much troubles people have and complaining and in 90% of the cases THEY messed up everything themselfs. Why? Because of the fairytailes. Feel free to prove me wrong about it. No offence tough

Guest MartijnGP Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 Are you back on Adreno 220 drivers now, Trip? It says so in your dump.

Guest BummAround Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 (edited) I upgraded to the leaked RUU - HBOOT 1.23 EDIT: Flashed S008B by accident. Do share your experience with the leaked RUU. How is it? EDIT: Well, fejker could've not said it better. Thanks. I only flashed the new HBOOT and the leaked Virtuous stock 4.0.3 update and it's all working fine so far. I didn't notice any "major speedups" and "awesome smooth scrolling" that the users in the thread over at XDA are raging about. It feels normally fast ... like Trips AOSP. But still, it is impressive for a Sense ROM. Patiently waiting for the AOSP, because I'm feeling nervous with Sense on my phone - HTC should fire their designers and just go with stock looks. Guest subhramani Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 what improvements does stock 4.0.3 from Google have over 4.0.1, do you know that? :) latest HTC leak is the smoothest EVER Sense rom i've ever seen from HTC out of the box...it's amazing quick, universes apart from the original leak. camera seems to record 1080p @ 15mbps in MP4 format out of the box too. I'm sorry but can you link me up to the ROM you are talking about please? There are way too many ROMs on XDA and I don't know which one you are talking about. Thanks :)

Sense was ahead of its time when it first come out. But Sense is showing its age now and simply cannot complete with the new ICS UI. Google just announced that all manufacturers will have to use the ICS Holo theme on new devices. Hopefully HTC will stop pushing Sense on ICS for current devices. Yes its 1000% faster and I havent noticed a bug yet. Also on the status bar the graphics is rendering properly !
Guest llKNOTTYll Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 This is all off-topic, Isn't this the correct place? http://android.modaco.com/topic/349885-tripnice-ice-cream-sandwich-discussion-thread-latest-tr001b/ HBOOT 1.23 makes no obvious difference to TR0001B.

Guest Arz Bhatia Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Why is it so hard to understand, you guys? PLEASE, ALL discussions in the discussion thread! Thread Cleaned.. Yet again.
Guest Basil3 Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Will this thread be continued or will the 4.0.3 release be a total new thread? As far as i can see, the 4.0.3 offers some improvements over 4.0.1, but the HTC leak also brings a couple of new bugs such as apps FCing which didnt occur on 4.0.1. I dont know how this might affect your development, trip. I dont know if this is on topic enough, but this place is dead. If nothing else, im giving Arz something to do by deleting this and pointing people to his thread.....again :-)

Some of trip's followers don't understand easily that's why I had to take action, I won't close down this thread if it remains to be a dev thread, which it is now I guess :) And please don't mark that thread as 'my thread', it's for keeping things clean, that's what a mod does, right? :) Seeya!
Guest motopaddy Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 (edited) Was getting curious because of videos of the Galaxy Nexus quadrant score. Saw a test on Youtube (Phonedog I believe) were it scored in the 1700 region... Just did a full benchmark on my Sensation with Trips latest beta ROM and scored 2805! Think that's quite amazing, wanted to share this :-) Edit: I know it's said that Quadrant isn't optimized for ICS, but did the full benchmark anyway as they also did in the video I mentioned Edited January 8, 2012 by motopaddy

Guest motopaddy Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 That's because quadrant isn't fully optimized for ICS, mate :) Is that why it's so high? But then why does the Nexus scored that low... Is that due to hardware differences?
Guest staymunch Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Is that why it's so high? But then why does the Nexus scored that low... Is that due to hardware differences? I think quadrant isn't even optimized for dual core (correct me if i'm wrong). I use antutu for benchmarks seems a lot more thorough
Guest diable Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Quadrant runs its test at the native resolution of the phone. So the sgx 540 gpu in the galaxy nexus is rendering every frame at 1280x720. Where as the andro gpu in the sensation is only working at 960x540. That's why the scores keep going down as the resolution of phones go's up.
Guest motopaddy Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 (edited) Will do some Antutu benchmark tomorrow. Want to know where Sensation with ICS stands compared to SGS2 and GN. Edit: scores from Antutu Samsung Galaxy S2 6082 Google Nexus 5941 Sensation ICS TR001B 6382 Edited January 8, 2012 by motopaddy
