Hi All!

Here's a strange one for you.

Encryption with ICS and MCR...

Seriously? Dont Do It!

I thought i'd be clever and didnt really think of the consequences.

After hitting the encrypt button and setting my code, i let it run for a good few hours and all was well.

Until i tried to do anything to do with flashing or backing up etc.

You can not do a single thing if the phone hasnt booted up.

So i back up my data from the SD and hit the factory reset option...

Didnt work either...

Tried doing it in CWM recovery, Couldnt mount the sd card...

Officially stuck...

Currently trying again after wiping the cache in CWM...

Keep you updated...

Had to run "fastboot -w"

Cleared everything

thankfully still rooted and all custom'd

Reinstalled rom manager and restored from backup.

Lesson Learned!

hmmm... it sounds like when it comes to actually protecting your data this may be more useful than just some security theatre gimmick.

That's actually good news. I may have to give the encryption option a serious try.

Thanks!

Yes it is how it should work with encryption.
