Guest dr.flo Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Actually something changes that control, as if NOT set opta/b to ascend, rom starts using /sys/class/leds/red/brightness instead and fails to find one. If switched to ascend - no such error. wondering if we provide a symlink "red" pointing to "button-backlight" would it turn on leds without ascend opts?
Guest pier11 Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 wondering if we provide a symlink "red" pointing to "button-backlight" would it turn on leds without ascend opts? maybe, but /sys is an artificial filesystem, not sure if smth can be added. Device drivers via API register their particular nodes in /sys tree. Then it is accessed as normal files to read from and write to (if write privileges are exposed.)

But it's a little similar to switching cams be renaming msm_camera0 and so on.... The other workaround would be to have yet another led compat patch in kernel. Generate "red" instead of "button-backlight" instead of "keyboard-backlight".... ;) red is shorter than button-backlight so we cannot just patch that inside lights.msm7k.so... hm.... but we could edit lights sources in cm6 to make the previously generic lights.msm7k.so look for button-backlight instead of red...? edit: wait: our kernel has lights on stock ascend -> exposes same interface as ascend kernel. We should look for cm6 ascend ports. They should include a compatible lights lib, and one that does not read huawei specific opta/optb for doing this.... (if they did not pull lights lib from stock rom)? they did pull from stock rom. Edited February 24, 2012 by dr.flo

I didn't find that constants in cm6 liblights sources time I looked there. Are they there?.. Edited February 24, 2012 by pier11

Another idea is to look for cm6 sources of htc magic lights lib maybe? If their stock lights lib gives lights for us it must have accessed button-backlight. A cm version should do the same if it was meant to give lights on htc magic.

Guest Smikeyy Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 The rom seems to be running smoothly on my Pulse U8220 Wifi issue actually fixes itself if you start up the phone the first time and the wifi bug is there then restart you phone then go back to wifi setting then it picks up the wifi signals. Plus it seems to wake up normally and wifi automatically starts up. Though there is an issue with the lights they dont turn the front buttons near the ball scroller.

Guest yunzhiyue Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 Dear all, let me present work in progress to make standard FROYO reference rom based on appropriate kernel - 2.6.32 Rom is an adopted stock froyo of Huawei UM840 device (msm7225 based). Same for ramdisk. Kernel is a port of u8150 (msm7225 based) to Pulse. Download: um840-20120224.zip (fixed reboot on incoming sms/alarm) Hello. U8220 T-Mobile touch screen is invalid, is it right? Do not include the T-Mobile kernel driver, just Tre

Guest twrock Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 Often the reason you can't pre install an app into /data is because you must also put its lib file into /system/lib. Extract the lib out of the apk. Only apps that have a lib file in them need to do this. Terminal emulator is one of those. But the author of Setcpu has asked his app not be pre installed in distributed ROMs. No frills CPU Control is a good alternative.

Guest pacavaca Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 I tried to put tun.ko in this firmware by Tun.ko installer. Tun.ko loaded into memory and can be seen by lsmod, but disappears after a reboot of the memory, trying to get through the insmod failed.
Guest desalesouche Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 (edited) @ pier and dr.flo is this interesting for the rom...? would that apk would add something positive? http://www.techofweb...l#comment-27763 they say: The Flash 10.2 APK, when released, was believed to be only compatible with Android 3.0 Honeycomb. But reports say that this version of Flash is also works with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and Android 2.2.x Froyo. Users say that this version loads the video a bit faster than the prior versions. link: http://www.mediafire.com/?2xo1ro332y63xrc Edited February 26, 2012 by desalesouche
Guest dr.flo Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 give it a try and tell us I might be wrong but I think the problem with flash is not android version but the fact that there is no armv6 version of the player...
