strange. This was tested by me. I will re-upload a new one this time the only change included will be the boot image made by pier. the rest is all from um840 rom and deodexed.

the rom has network, wifi, camera is working.

Changed lib and bin folder to the content of pier rom. also wifi was changed as well has some files on etc folder. the rest is from the original rom.

testing your changed rom and for now it lost the android boot logo, has network, sound is not ok, camera is not ok, wifi connects to my home network, no further tests

ok thx ...:) it was blind work from my part as i couldn't boot that rom...lol so i am uploading yours again will try to boot it...:)

strange that there are some rom i canno't boot as others can...

how is your sd card?

do you have ext2 or 3?

I have a 2gb sd card with 512mb as a ext2 partition and the rest as fat partition.

if you have android sdk installed you can view log errors with dalvik debug monitor and see where the rom stucks.

Also could it be that you can't boot due to the big system partition of rom?

It is the digital zoom button. As I remember digital zoom doesn't supported in the original Pulse rom too.

Third party camera apps' digital zoom works. I tried Camera ZOOM FX.

yeah, thats maybe why you have problems with some roms. My system partition has 174mb and is also a U8230.

For keypad LEDs:

Go into the file build.prob and edit this line: ro.config.hw_opta = 153.

Instead of 153 set 177 => ro.config.hw_opta = 177,

and restart phone

When you talk about losing USB tethering, would this affect apps like Barnacle Wifi Tether? If Barnacle works, I wouldn't care if it lost native USB tethering. But in any case, it looks like desalesouche is getting it to work.

A bit off topic, but sometimes I find while rom modding that I can push something into a rom that is already working and it has a different effect than when I add it to the full rom and install it fresh. I have no idea why, other than maybe pushing it retains something in cache that isn't there on a fresh install.

Does this rom still have the volume problem? What else still needs to be fixed?

I really want to see a very stable stock Froyo and CM6 rom available. I wish I had more knowledge and skills to help solve these last few problems.

Edit: Can someone please add all the fixes since the last "official" release and upload it with a detailed changelog? I'm having a hard time keeping track of all the changes in all the different roms. (Yes, my brain is "older".) :lol:

i kept the same value in ro.config.hw_optb=840...just tried the change in opta....

edit:i just made the change with root explorer in build.prop and then i rebooted...no fresh install...after that i made a backup still worrking after i restore back up...i have to test with fresh install with change done before install

i've done that also but no lights. i have lights only if i change brightness, but after sleep no lights again. This is due to, maybe, the luminosity sensor that our phone unfortunely doesn't have.. the ideal thing was to remove any info for this sensor and the proximity one.

let me present you the latest stock froyo rom based on the last UM840 official rom (thanks Rhen for the info)

This rom work is based on pier11, and all the others work. I tried to reduce to the maximum system partition but it still has 109MB so don't know if it's suitable to U8220, but on U8230 is working ok. this rom brings a smaller android boot comparing to the previous one (Pier had the problem of a gray rectangle on boot, that i corrected, but this one is the one from the stock rom).

Rom has latest boot image from pier11;

It has allrady darktremor app2sd.

Comparing to the last rom from pier the only improvment that you may first note is that the lights are working by default;

Rom is still identified has UM840. (Maybe this is why light are on?)

This is only a Port to the new rom. Lights are implemented on build.Prop.

On my tests with a modified Framework-res i was unable to modify opta with any Minner.

O another forumt for Lights we need to modify arrays . Xml insyde Framework-res. Allready tried that But i can’t make a working Framework-res.
