Any body tried Custom Rom for Idea India Branded ZTE Blade

guys i am generally unhappy with idea blade. i think its performance is substandard. i cant single out a reason but i guess dell xcd with a 512 mb ram is a better performer.

Just downloaded and installed this rom on my Idea Blade, working perfectly till now. Camera also is working well. Still checking other features but very very satisfied, looks great and works great too.

Hi Jerrin,

The Cyanogenmod 7.2 RC rom which i installed is working perfect but it seems to be a great battery drainer. Compared to the moldovan which i was using earlier this seems to be giving me just 50% of the battery time. Still continuing using it because it has a nice feel and look. I'll keep you updated when i get to know anything more. Do try the rom its a nice change.

My idea blade it seems is not going well with both mmhmp and swedish snow. Everything is working fine including camera except that i cannot install any apps. Not from market not from sd. Whenever I try to install any apps the phone restarts. I have also tried cm7 and LewaOS. This problem does not come up with them.

Anybody else having this problem????? Any solutions//////////////////

This seems to be a strange problem. Because i have tried every available rom on my idea blade and Dell xcd 35 but never came across this kind of a problem. Seems the application allowing unknown sources is having an error. Please tick and untick the option and restart the mobile. I cant think of any other solution, all the best ! Please do let me know if you do find a solution.

Have you frozen any of the system apps using something like TB??

Never used titanium backup umesh............Never installed it as i cannot install from market when mmhmp is flashed.

This is the strangest problem i have ever encountered. Currently i am running miui (CM7.2 based) and the phone is working very well. All the applications are installing from market as well as from sd.

When i use cm7 based roms like miui, lewaOs there is absolutely no problem. But whenever i flash mmhmp based roms like swedish snow, one lg custom rom based on mmhmp then this problem occurs.

Will wait for solution as the new miui rom is just awesome. Perfect UI..........

Whenevr flashing a ROM, you MUST wipe data, cache and Dalvik Cache by default. therefore always backup all your apps using TB and sms and call logs using backup apps from the play store.

whenever I install new rom I wipe data, cache, dalvik cache and battery stats

have done 5 times for Swedish snow. but to no avail.

in that post did the user wiped dalvik cache after flashing or before flashing new rom bcoz I have done wiping before flashing.

currently phone running well on miui.

Congrats and yes Idea Blade has 256 MB ram only and shows around 160 MB. To speed up You could try installing custom ROM like Swedish Snow, here is a guide to do just that by Vivek upgrading-idea-blade-from-froyo-to-gingerbird/ . Please do it your own risk as this will void your warranty and remember to backup.

Also try installing Nemus Launcher from Play Store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nemustech.launcher which will reduce memory usage. Hope it helps and welcome.

Hey guyz ............ good news.........

After the latest Swedish Snow Rsl6........another fully working rom in which camera also works is LewaOS.......

It is based upon Cyanogen Mod. And it has beautiful UI.

1.First Flash LewaOS Rom. http://android.modac...nglish-version/

2. Then flash this kernel update for Cm7........... http://android.modac...sed-custom-rom/

3. This kernel update also supports overclocking. So maybe this is the first rom of gen2 which supports overclocking and camera is also working.

Internal Storage freed --140 Mb

Ram Freed upto 84Mb

Everything is working good and fine.

One thing more you have to manually enter APN setting for 3g to work...............

So if some kind hearted idea blade user can send his full APN setting.........I will be much appreciated...................

slow is something you will have to live with in this phone. i have a u8800 and bought blade for my wife from flipkart thinking it has 512 mb ram and can be oc. but to my dismay blade performs way poorly compard to my u8800. anyways ss rls6 is our best option. learn to live with lags in IDEA blade !!

Hey guyz, i have an idea blade. I tried the latest cm7 nightly, swedish snow rls7 and miui from here. and in all the roms, my camera is working perfectly without applying any patch or custom kernel.

i am currently running Swedish Snow, but most of the time when i minimize apps using home, they just close themselves and i have to start them all over again. i tried different apps like skype, trillian, winamp etc, all of them have same problem.

i havent overclocked my blade, also i did try cm7 but the problem continues...

That's because idea blade has very low RAM of 256 MB..of which only about 50-60 Mb is free..........as soon as the RAM is full android force closes running applications......the conclusion is that idea blade practically has no multitasking............i am using CM7.2 kang with MIUI.......and i can only minimize market. music and opera mini at a particular instance..........

Mahn... i was in the same rom as u are in. but the thing is i use brut maps as they support gmaps navigation in india.But no map is working in that rom. I've also felt it so slow as the time goes. It took long time for stabilization after installs or un installs and several FCs, freezes and restarts. If u have any ideas to try other rom try this. Its excellent for Idea blades

Touch will not work on this as the drivers are different. So flash this kernel over it.

But im tellin u the rom will take atleast a day to stabilize until that u'll have several freezes and re starts. Open all the apps and close it again. That'll stabilize it. But after stabilization its simply the best awesome.

If the rom is too simple for u just download and install a theme called ROVER from XDA and select it via theme chooser. And even the battery back up is 20hrs+. Give a try if u wish. Just my 2 cents :blush: :) :D

Hey jerrin.........how much ram is free in this AOKP mix???? I tried cold fusionX and from the first boot it showed 0MB RAM..so i have to come back to gingerbread...........
