Guest Redflake Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 During a fit of stupidity I tried to install one of the froyo bin files with the acer download tool. I ignored the warning about partition sizes and needless to say the phone would not boot up. (boot loop at android animation) I managed to recover the phone using the acer ug folder upgrade method to 2.3.6 gingerbread but now I can't install Clockwork or Amonra as no devices show up. I have the drivers installed, the Acer download tool will still work and normal usb mass storage is ok. I have tried on 2 computers but neither will work. Any help appreciated as I am now unable to root or install any custom roms.

Guest Redflake Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Silly question But do you have USB debug mode on? Yes. :-)
Guest Smeelious Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Yes. :-) Insert all the typical just-in-case things here. (reboot phone, reinstall drivers, install acer sync, jiggle the cable, etc) Does the device get recognized in windows? (assuming you are using windows)

Iv'e tried differant cables.
Guest fonero Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 (edited) Can you get in fastboot? Is phone recognized when in fastboot? Did you - after reviving phone - use the official update package on the site? Edited February 14, 2012 by fonero

Guest fonero Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 So, are the partition tables restored as on 2.3.6 or not? Maybe an idea to check sizes with freespace app from market. I will compare them with mine.

Guest fonero Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 Unfortunately, same sizes here. Maybe try it on a third pc with fresh drivers to exclude some probabilities.
