What is with people trying to do what they cannot get in the first place?!?! If users do not know how to partition a blade or know the exact partition size required or does not know where to get the partitioning firmware from, then why do they even try flashing ICS?? I mean seriously most of them here are getting their basics completely wrong. Learn everything there is to about flashing a custom rom and then when your confident enough try flashing and after that if you do encounter problems only then ask for help.

Actually I don't think it's all about confidence as much as curiosity. Even though at the beggining of the post says about EXPERIENCED ADVANCED USERS ONLY, everybody wants to get the new ROM for his device. :)

I have the same type of blade as you Tilal, but sadly the ROM was so unusable i had to go back to burstlams build :/

I have the same phone as the OP here but have the crashes others are talking of.

What's odd is that your first release, although it could not run applications (market etc) it was extremely smooth, and only crashed if I deviated away from phone functions and tried to install third party apps.

The second release has not yet rebooted although I have had to pull the battery a couple of times. Strange. Logcat shows nothing useful. Could it be possible that the system size is not the only partition we need to worry about?

I should point out that at the time I got my Orange phone it seemed to be a different make of the same device- it wasn't even clear if my phone was using TFT or OLED, although it turned out that it was a Gen1, the firmware Orange installed signified otherwise and I suspect that even if we both have an Orange Froyo gen1 upgraded to gen2, the phones could still be different.

BTW Good work. The first release had my phone running for 48 hours and it'd have lasted longer if it wasn't rebooting, I had the battery on 26% for almost 6 hours. I was addicted to seeing how long it would last. Looking forward to this!!! :-)

OK. Here's the rough beginnings of a guide - I'll start it here and put it up on the first post once all the issues with it are resolved.

HOW TO FLASH ICS:

  • First you'll need to TPT your phone to a layout that gives you atleast 185 MB space - 200 is preferable. You can get TPTs and instructions on how to flash them here
  • Second: you should get the GAPPs and ROM and put them on your SD card
  • Now FORMAT SYSTEM <- VERY IMPORTANT
  • Then flash the ROM
  • After this wipe data
  • Then reboot out of recovery and let it boot into the ROM
  • After you let it sit on the launcher for ~ 5 minutes then reboot into recovery again
  • Now flash the GAPPs zip
  • And reboot out of recovery
  • In the ROM you should now be presented with the Setup Wizard
  • Go through the instructions and then let it sit on launcher for another 5 minutes to stabilise.
  • If you still have problems post on the thread.

Great and simple tutorial! What people must keep in mind is that a tutorial or a "helping hand" is for the people new to a specific situation or in this situation now new to a way of using their device the way it was supposed to work from the beginning. There no need for negative arguments or name calling. If you don't like helping out, then don't participate. Sit there, and be quiet.

I for one is happy to help newcomers to my field of expertise, and if it wasn't so darn unstructured in the main thread I think more questions would be resolved there!

Now, my question at hand;

If titanium backup says that System Rom:144 and Internal : 330, that would make me required to repartition my phone in order to flash this rom?

Thanks for all your help

Which one is best between this rom and the [iCS] [MIUI] MIUIBlader for the ZTE Blade [ROM]? Stability and so one...

In my opinion It has to be ColdFusion. Much faster and quite stable.

Can someone link me to a 200mb system TPT? I can't find one and want to test the ROM out.

Tilal, I just went through your latest how-to and IT IS MUCH BETTER. Looks like installing gapps right after flashing the rom was screwing things up. The CPU isn't now used in 100% all the time. I haven't yet got any reboots.

Amphoras has an app named TPT Helper. It's available on market.

Did everything you wrote, still reboots. Especially after calls.

Yeah, about that... looks like I've jinxed it. It was all cool and dandy till it got laggy in browser, just right after I've typed that message. A wild reboot appeared. When it booted up it came back to being unusable. Now I'm back to Swedish snow. True story.

Could you guys please test without gapps? They may cause some problems

omg this rom is the worst rom i have ever come across, it looks like an import from the galaxys2 cm9 coz i have that exact rom on my galaxys2 and even has the widget flash led option lmao, this rom is totaly unusable.

btw im no noob as ive been installin custom roms and modding for a few yrs now and i defo copied exactully how it says to install this rom.

it says at the first post "whats not working" and the answer was "nothing". i think thy need to put "whats not working" and the answer should be "everything"

Not sure what the point was in you posting. He's working on it, and he's doing a good job. ICS4 is new. The second build was a major improvement over the first, and the third will be an improvement too. Nothing is ever right at the first hurdle. He wrote that nothing was broken because on his device, nothing was broken. :-)
