Guest John Enter Posted June 8, 2012 Report Posted June 8, 2012 Is it as simple as flashing the /system folder to your phone, or would it take some adjustments(i.e. tilal wil have to implement it)?
Guest DMM88 Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 Yeah, that's wonderful! Now someone needs to get Youtube HQ working and I will be a glad man. Great! No!!!, that drivers were released 3 months ago... That drivers are already implemented... You wanna give me an heart attack...
Guest ohyesman Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 (edited) Well this rom is SWEET!!!! I've been using SS5 forever now and decided to stick a new rom on to update it - I read threads and decided to stick Swedish Snow on but wanted to try this rom first to see what it is like. Now i've tried it i want to keep it - hopefully its stable enough and battery life if good too. If not i'll chuck SSRS7 on which seems better than SS5 anyhow. Main issue with this is the data size left for apps etc - I installed rom earlier etc and restored my app and data using go backup and all went well until ran out of room :( (thats when i tried out SSnow - but want to use this rom - so sticking it back on :) So - i've read the how-to-a2sd-for-coldfusion-ics thread, made a 512mg ext 3 partition and i've grabbed the zip flie to flash from that thread. Now this is were i become a NOOB lol - never used ext before and not sure what i'm doing and all the reading is starting to hurt LOL So, im flashing rom etc like so - which i hope is correct FORMAT SYSTEM Flash the ROM and S2E zip After this wipe data Reboot Flash Gapps Reboot Question is (got there in the end) - is how does this work (sorry for noob question!!) I take it some apps are installed straight on to the SD ext partition?? - When i reinstall the apps & data from Go Backup will this automatically install to SD card were relevant etc or will it restore as before and i run out of room again?? TIA Cracking looking rom tilal6991 Edit - im done for the night need to go to sleep :/ - Just waiting on reply to above before restore apps & Data - question on S2E though - what are the best settings to use ?? Conflicting info on so many threads - currently got apps & priv apps ticked and app data - left Dalvik cache unticked & ticked mount as ext4 - is that ok?? - any need to tick and set read buffer?? Once again thanks in advance Edited June 9, 2012 by ohyesman
Guest Loren82 Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 Yes, but that's just a review of the drivers of the GPU, in 6.2 of Burstlam are already implemented.
Guest NeilDavies Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 exactly!! I wonder if its rom related :( Do you use any alternative? I haven't gotten around to searching yet as I don't use it very often
Guest shmizan Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 CM weather wakes my devices every hour, which is fine during the day, but useless overnight.. I don't imagine they plan a "disable updates from X to Y" feature right? :P
Guest solidslash Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 Oh snap guys, take a look at this: http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/usuym/linaro_build_optimizations_that_can_make_ics_30/ Will this thing be present in CFX anytime soon?
Guest targetbsp Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 (edited) Oh snap guys, take a look at this: http://www.reddit.co...an_make_ics_30/ Will this thing be present in CFX anytime soon? Nice! All here date June 8th by the looks of it: http://review.cyanog.../dashboard/1935 So I guess we'll be seeing it in all CM9's once it gets merged. Maybe someone in the compiling CM9 thread will give it all a go. Edited June 9, 2012 by targetbsp

Guest andr0idbeliev3r Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 OK one question for the devs. What do i have to know to start developing ROMS for ZTE Blade?
Guest richardw1992 Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 I have been out of the field for a while and just updated from a CM7 on a gen1 phone using kaltkafes converter, to this after a TPT gen 2 upgrade. I am very impressed with it, it certainly is a huge step up over gingerbread, the UI is so much smoother than before, I'm so impressed at the level of performance you developers have squeezed out of our little 600Mhz processors! My blade is currently running faster and smoother than my friends Xperia Arc S! (But that is mainly due to the recent ICS update they released for it which is laggy and buggy...) I do however have two questions, It says in the update list that GPU overclocking and CPU undervolting are enabled, but I can not find them anywhere in the settings? Or are these just enabled by default at certain frequencies and sleep states? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated!

Or are these just enabled by default at certain frequencies and sleep states? This is correct. Edited June 9, 2012 by targetbsp
Guest Mahesh Sharma Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 If you did have time to read through the whole thread (can't blame you for not trying, it's huge and too full of the useless information), you could see that only European Blades with 3mpix camera are (almost) sure to work. The others have more camera issues. There could be other hidden issues, you can't be sure before you try it (after all, I have plenty of issues that have been brought through from previous versions, and I have an early TFT SF). Ok :) Is it ok to run this on 256MB ram? I've heard that 512MB is needed for ICS thats why am asking.. btw I don't have time to read the entire thread(344 pages is too much) :D
Guest targetbsp Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 OK one question for the devs. What do i have to know to start developing ROMS for ZTE Blade? Assuming you're not already using Linux... Setup Ubuntu 64 bit in a VM. I think you need 35gb disk space and 4gb ram for the VM. Install the build packages (except java JDK) as detailed here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/ZTE_Blade:_Compile_CyanogenMod_(Linux) Install java JDK as shown here: http://source.android.com/source/initializing.html Then download source and compile as shown here: http://www.modaco.com/topic/353188-compiling-cm9-for-blade/

Guest targetbsp Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 (edited) It does the first time! It's not so bad after that, depending upon how much changes and needs re-compiled since you last did it. But on the flip side, the advantage of doing it in a VM is you can continue using your PC for other stuff. This statement assumes the alternative is dual-booting. If Linux is already your primary OS then obviously whatever else you wanted to use the PC for you'd be doing anyway whilst it compiles in the background. Edited June 9, 2012 by targetbsp
Guest HumaDroid Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 Ok :) Is it ok to run this on 256MB ram? Dont read... Just give it a try... get any problems, you know where to ask.. Be sure to backup your ROM first...
Guest Airazz Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 So Linaro has been released, it reportedly speeds up any Android ROM by some 30%. Are there any plans on using that for ZTE Blade ROMs in the future?
