Any tips on a tpt with a 160 MB or larger system partition for a gen2 (upgraded by tpt from gen1)?

Call me lazy but since flashing a tpt is the first step before installation a recommended tpt might be a good idea (also for gen2 sold as gen2 or upgraded via windoze method). Less bricked phones that way ;-).

Time for a would be expert to post the links...

look for the first few posts in here - told me all i needed to know and I TPT'd it easily enough

Great relase just installed it very smooth and fast.I still have the problem when I activate flight mode the phone hangs and reboots. If this could be fixed it would be awesome!

Thank you for putting effort into this!

I've just installed the new update (22-03-2012) and this is what i think is actual status of this rom:

  • Transitions are Smoother - Home Screen and App Drawer
  • Awesome boot animation
  • Camera - Preview Image Works
  • Keyboard - Switching to landscape looks faster then last build, no more glitches
  • Web Browser - Smoother
  • Gallery - Barely works
  • Calculator - Doesn't work - I've tried the "upside down" trick and it doesn't works
  • Wi-FI icon on Top Bar has some kind of two arrows icon over it (don't know if this is normal or not)
  • Search bar in Home Screen doesn't work
  • Airplane Mode doesn't work

Even so, i'm extremely happy with this rom, and i'm using it on my daily basis.

I'm looking forward for a stable ICS version on the ZTE Blade.

Thank you very much tilal6991

Well to answer my own post the best source for tpt partition tables of various sizes and incarnations seems to be here

I have used the following since now have a gen 1 "upgraded" to gen2 via tpt* (see below for pointless story)

Gen 1 to Gen 2 v10f

Gives a 180MB system, 2MB cache and 274MB data. Will convert from Gen 1 to Gen 2 and installs ClockworkMod recovery v5.0.2.0. No rom is included. Great for ICS.

Download

MD5sum: 4bb8a01af73b5cd380dff8589975f6be

See first link for how to use.

Beginning of pointless story... I have a gen2 sold as gen2 that I bricked. Then used the dodgy zte flasher to fix my nv ram and then a hex editor to fix the imei... and then flashed a gen1 tpt and recovery... and then installed Swedish Snow via tpt (even though most of the snow has melted in sthlm). Which left me with a 128MB system Gen1 upgraded to Gen2 phone. (still slow as a dog but 672 MHz is all this cheap piece of Chinese junk can give me... I know, I know I should buy a new phone.)

i never use airplane mode so i don't mind if it doesn't work. haven't tried the calculator yet, but i guess there's plenty of free ones on the market that could work.

got all my stuff restored, games and apps e.t.c. and have 54mb free on the partition which isn't too bad i think. i used mini-gapps and also uninstalled a lot of stuff that i'd never use like voice recorder, sound recorder e.t.c...

i'd like to think i might have the time and patience to work out what other system apps i could safely remove but i probably can't be bothered :)

everything so far is running smoothly and looks great, very pleased and huge thanks to the devs.

big test will be tomorrow when i have to use GPS tracking and Poweramp - be keen to see how well that works.

*edit*

just trying to edit a contact in my phonebook and i accidentally rang my dad .. at 2:49am UK time .. whoops !!. i hung up pretty quickly though - the call counter said it was only about a second so hopefully he'll be fast asleep :)

*edit 2*

you don't appear to be able to edit the power bar which is a pain.

cropping pictures still doesn't seem to work either - there's no preview available. if you just use the crop button it still saves the picture but it certainly makes it next to impossible to set a wallpaper properly

*edit 3*

no picture frame widgets either ..

*edit 4*

things are a tad laggy i'm finding, slight delays with certain apps and the odd FC .. hhmm .. i've switched on smartassV2 so maybe that's it?

I agree for the most part with John, but no matter what I do I the Preview Image doesn't want to work for me. Anyone else finding the same issue?

Haven't tried stock gallery, been using QuickPic (which is running smooth as butter on here btw).

Tilal, very awesome job btw. I've been playing DDR on my FPse and the suped-up GPU is making for some awesome times =o)

***edit

Excuse my hilariousness, I just now realized there was a new build.

To those asking: the arrows in the wifi or signal icon indicate network activity. Uploading or downloading.

Gallery is also fixed.

Colour banding is not fixed because Tom G has not enabled hw acelleration which is the reason colour banding can't be seen in his rom.

why is hw acc not enabled ? Just curious !

Since this rom is made with OpenGL acceleration (i belive is some sort of hacks that doesn't need proprietary adreno200 libs), is it suitable for someone who play lot of games on the blade? Is 3D Acceleration in games working or should I stay on ginger untill Qualcomm release pre-built libs for ARMv6 or adreno200 source code?
