[CM9] Cyanogenmod 9 for LiquidA1/LiquidE

Guest thepasto

Recommended Posts

Testing now a new rom.. Seems better on a1 too... (can't say that for sure having an E). Everything seems to work atm

Nice to see you in Action after a long while, i hope you remember me from the alphas'.

I hope you can some how make the 512mb of you Liquid E reduced to 256mb for use by reserving 256mb as non usable.

This might help in developing for a1 and testing too.

This may sound bad because we love our phones, but still you are the BEST developer for Acer Liquid and you can try if its easy.

Sorry if you don't like the idea.

I am so happy to see you again on CM9, hope Acer Liquid A1/E can get to a CM10.

Just to update.

Current updates are really good, i'm on A1 and over 6 hours of use :

- Pretty no lags ^_^

- Booting a bit slow, as it consumes swap

- 3D apps are nice, I will not tell anything about FPS ! :ph34r:

- No reboots caused by the ROM :blush:

- RAM is *Secret* :ph34r:

- *Secret* :ph34r:

- And uhm, *secret*, probably.. :ph34r:

- ...

- *Secret* :ph34r:

Here is a secret for bringing the good news.

You might want to try a beautiful, simple and light boot animation(less size in MB-1.35mb)

I briefly tested the CM9 build on my Liquid E last week, and in general found it to be fast and stable with 512MB RAM. The only major problem that I ran into was lack of hardware decoding for H.264 video playback, youtube and other videos that play smoothly and with low CPU usage on my current GB ROM were stuttering on CM9 beta. As one of the main uses for my phone is watching video I had to flash back to CM7.2 :( Aside from that the work looks very good, and once I have an ICS ROM I can use daily I will be glad to donate the authors, who again are doing great work. I'm not sure performance with 256MB RAM would be usable for daily work, but interesting anyway. Thanks for the frequent status updates, and sorry for not gettting around to posting sooner.

the new rom is working smooth... a small test result of mine....

No reboots or freezes till now....using it for the last 15hours...

RAM is pretty fast.... thepasto and teams are working on it a bit more to make it more faster

3D Games with sensors are working smooth

Booting is faster(i havent experienced any lag on booting as some testers says)

Better battery life

Better audio(still some fixes needed)

Crap liquid camera has to be fixed... :(

Faster on home screen, no lagging in menu and faster lockscreen...

...................................... still testing................................................

Hope this time they will release a daily usable rom :)

howewer my kgsl deepsleep fix works well i've no freezes anymore :) i will upload you another patch on ics branch later ok? (maybe a new mdp engine from 2.6.38 ok?i'm testing).

howewer i'll pass you the 200mb for apps fix

replace partition size values in your boardconfig

BOARD_BOOTIMAGE_PARTITION_SIZE := 0x00440000

BOARD_RECOVERYIMAGE_PARTITION_SIZE := 0x00500000

BOARD_SYSTEMIMAGE_PARTITION_SIZE := 0x0be00000

BOARD_USERDATAIMAGE_PARTITION_SIZE := 0x0c780000

BOARD_FLASH_BLOCK_SIZE := 4096

and delete from device_salsa

PRODUCT_TAGS += dalvik.gc.type-precise

EDIT: i've backported .32 power manager in gingerbread branch thepasto. can you merge that commit in test branch also??

@thepasto, ainilla

are you using my last kernel sources???

Hello lupo i saw some topics at

https://github.com/thepasto/liquid-chocolate/commits/test

and found disabled vsync for smooth ui - as i have heard vsync is used for smooth rendering, or only the vsync in jelly bean is good for rendering not the vsync in ics.

My findings sofar:

It's very fast rom which is positive

negative things

1. asking to enter a code to get your simcard connected to the network (if you ignore this the phone starts up normaly and works correctly

2 the battery led continues to flash (known issue, is up to the user to accept it or not)

3 USB mass device is showing the options to connect or disconnect but there is nothing happening on the pc (tested on windows and linux)

4 cm7 you had the choice between usb mass device and debug mode, I have both indicators on my status bar which might be the cause that the USB mass device isn't working properly.

its not asking for any code for simcard....its solved in the latest rom.....

the battery led issue also fixed in the new rom

Minor issues are there(they are trying to fix it)

USB storage is not working

scan button in wifi does not work automatically,

low mic volume

Camcoder

thepasto is also working on the ram to make it more faster...

Wait for the release :P

waiting worth it :D
