Keyboard suddenly starts pressing random letters?

Hey guys,

When I am writing a message on my Skate, every now and again the keyboard completely bugs out. Instead of adding the correct letters, it might add that and about three other letters. When this happens, nothing responds right. The backspace key even adds letters, long hold doesn't work, etc. I've tried the ICS keyboard, Swype, Swiftkey X so far and I get the problem on them all.

Anyone else have this problem?

I think it may be touchscreen related. It doesn't happen always but it will last for a while when it does :S

Tried the MIUI Mix&Match ROM, Atomic V8, Ice Armor, etc. and it's all the same too.

I was getting a similar problem intermittently. The phone acted as if it was getting semi-random screen presses. Looking more closely, I saw patterns in the key strokes e.g. on numeric keypad it was mainly 2,5 & 8 appearing. Then I started seeing a problem with areas of the screen being unresponsive. I installed an app called Touch Test which traces out path of finger on the screen. This showed a rectangle of unresponsiveness. It covered from ~30% to 60% of the screen width and 0-75% of the screen height. I replaces the touchscreen yesterday and the full screen is responsive again. So far the random key presses have not recurred.
