no nothing like that, its just sitting in its folder..

I think you need to go into more detail with nandroid.md5 stuff, I don't really understand.

thanks

the nandroid.md5 needs to be in the same folder as the image.bin, as this is like a fingerprint that identifies the image.bin.

If the nandroid.md5 does not correspond to the image.bin in the folder, it could potentially brick your phone.

This means that the download is corrupt or didnt finish.

so what your saying is that there should be a nandroid file in the download?

or should I put one in from elsewhere?

Read this again, and read the instructions.

http://android.modac...zte-skate-tpts/

read again. do I need one of those options as well as the Orange tpt?

also in the instructions I didn't understand how to do this:

Check the md5sum of the image.bin file matches the one written in the nandroid.md5 file.

And it says:

Flash your chosen rom and reboot.

Do I have a rom to "flash"?

No you don't need one of the other options.

You need to understand it before you do it, look at part 10 of this. It even tells you how to ckeck md5sum

Your partion sizes would change and you'd just have clockworkmod installed, this would probably fix your custom rom installation problem if you wanted to do that, its just that first post you wanted stock rom.

I don't mind which rom I have as long as it works, I just want to have it all working as soon as possible.

At the time I thought stock would be the best choice because it would defiantly work once installed.

Go for skatie, the download comes in tpt format as well :P

http://android.modac...-now-available/

Use option 1

Use this to check md5sum http://www.mediafire.com/?ejylnt2imoq

Follow instructions on there

heres what I did:

I downoaded option 1 and skatie.zip

put skatie.zip onto SD card

checked nandroid file thing with .bin file (all fine)

put them both onto SD in "image" folder

did that reboot thing with volume+

booted straight into recovery 4.0.1.5 instead of usual 4.0.1.4

I don't know what you mean, and no I can't flash ROM.

Is there any completely different way around this because so far I haven't been able to install a single thing with this recovery stuff.

Now its sounding like your SD card isn't working properly, do you have another one?

First flash the skatie stuff just like you did with option 1. See if that works
