Guest RussWWFC Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Hi I am running VegaICS Alpha 3 on my Advent Vega Tablet However, it seems impossible to customise my home screen... When I long press on an empty space, nothing happens - any other launcher I have used on my HTC Desire HD, this brings up an option to add a widget or an app. Also when I longpress on an app, some open instead of moving - it's very hit and miss. I have tried Nova Launcher and although it doesn't have the same issue with opening apps instead of moving them, I am still unable to add new shortcuts As I stated in another thread, I used this video to install But I couldn't get the last bit to work, so now the device has been flashed, my computer cannot see the device, either on the Native Mac OSX (can't see it at all) or the Windows Xp or Windows 7 installations via VM Ware fusion (recognises it as a Vega, but can'a access the SD Card Can anyone help, it's very frustrating, there is a great support community, but the info is tricky to find sometimes, and the advice conflicting Thanks

And thanks for the heads up, think I am going to stick with this version of Vega ICS for a while, just until I get used to my tablet and get a bit more familiar with flashing roms
Guest richardmlea Posted March 24, 2012 Report Posted March 24, 2012 (edited) To test if your touchscreen is playing up in ICS go to settings, developer options and tick "show touches" and "pointer location". you can now see the location of any touches and if there are any dead areas, phantom touches or double touches when you should have a continueus touch. A very useful tool for the vega owner  It does sound like your touchscreen is playing up, try this fix You can also add widgets and apps from the app draw. just sweep to the right until you see the widgets.
