WiFi dead...?

Hello my friends.

Last night my phone just disconnected from wifi and since then it will not connect to any wifi network. I was using pier11 cm7.2 rom. It will not connect even with a stock rom.

Here is a behavior. I can turn my wifi ON, it scans and finds networks. Then when I type network password it saves it but instead the usual obtaining address it says disconnected, after a couple seconds it is scanning and again disconnected. I have tried 7-8 different mods, and every time the same behavior. I tried changing from wpa/wpa2 to wep but still the same. Did a hard reset of the router, still the same. My other devices are connecting just fine.

Could it be a hardware issue? I really don't think so since it does the scanning thing.

I will listen and try any idea. I really don't know myself what to do.

Well after one day search I can see that many people are having this scanning - connecting - disconnected loop. I have tried almost everything bus still no luck. The one time I thought I solved it by setting up a static IP, but I was connected only for a dozen seconds before it got disconnected again and entered the loop. Does anyone have a slightest idea what might be the problem? Please, without wifi my phone is pretty useless..

And here's the kicker! When I put my phone next to the router it connects to wifi without any trouble. It is connecting, reconnecting, everything is working fine. But as soon as I move away from the router, even though I see that my wifi signal on the phone is full it won't connect and it enters the above mentioned loop. Weird, right? :blink: Does anybody have any idea about this thing? Please, I really am desperate..

I believe it is a router problem. I had the same problem, then I tried to connect to another router and that worked. My problem started after my router (d-link) factory reset itself automaticly. Try to connect to another router, then you know for sure...

go to tmobile site download official 2.1 update 6 flash with that after that root your phone and DONT use Cm7.2 because you will again have the same problem..

I think you are right. Router or connection problem effect on Wi-Fi. Wireless router create more problems than wired connection. To solve wi fi problem with wireless router first configured the default settings and check router's documentation.
