I formatted everything and flash everything prior to that failed fix, and I cannot press any of the bottom buttons :/

And Daz, what's your profile picture?

Do you have any idea as to what's caused it?

And thanks, I have a plan, you'll find out what it is soon ;D

We've just established that atmel definitely needs its own key bindings as using the synaptics ones binds everything to buttons that don't exist, leaving your actual buttons functionless.

Working on it.

Based on that, I'm assuming that I have atmel? Which could save me a job with logcatting :P

Can I have a link to your CM7 work to flash back to, in hopes that it'll fix it? :(

If you can get to terminal emulator you can run

"su"

"mount -o remount,rw /system"

"cd system/usr/keylayout"

"rm atmel-touchscreen.kl"

to restore it. Will need a reboot.

I have a suggestion which probably won't work, but it's only a suggestion.

If the home button works in CM7, can you not look at the files in the vivacity kernel for CM7 and compare them with CM9 to see what's wrong?

Surely there has to be a common thread or link somewhere amongst the files? :(

Gingerbread uses .kcm.bin files, but in ICS these were killed off and you can't actually use them anymore.

This mostly isn't, and hasn't been kernel related, but I've found evidence to suggest otherwise which I'm looking in to.

Me and fr0do have tried about 7 different .kl configurations but I'm pretty sure the problem doesn't lie in the .kl file as the file is pretty much the same for any device.

If people want this fixing very quickly they can post me an Atmel Vivacity. ;)

@ fr0do: looked in to those screenshots, the coordinates match up with what's defined in virtualkeys.atmel-touchscreen by the kernel so it's not that that's causing the issue.

Theres a way wee can figure out which keys bind to what. In cwm advanced settings there is a menu called key test. When you press the 4 sodtkeys it should cone up with the relevwnt keycodes for them.

Menu = 139

Home = 102

Undo = 158

Search = 217

The same as synaptics... damn. Problem lies elsewhere.

Edit: virtualkeys is correct but synaptics doesn't have one at all and works fine...

Edit 2: right now I imagine a logcat from boot would be most useful.

You have one of those?

On an atmel vivacity, with working and broken keys. The one you got from the app didn't have a long enough history
