how do I stop phone from hanging up during dialtone

and a lot of the times when you get through the station, you have to wait.... well over a minute for your call to get answered.

while, this phone (and other I imagine) has a thing where if no one answers, it hangs up around 30 seconds.

how can I make it continue to go- without having to phone back?
