Because he specifies he needs one for his bike, I assume ones that affix to as windscreen are not an option. Mrian, how did the one for your Blade attach to your bike?

Any recommendations for a good landscape windscreen mount?

I use this one (or something very similar). I know it says for i-Phone, but it expands quite wide to grip most units. Can be angled and 'spun' very readily. Can twist between portrait and landscape in an instant. Very easy to attach/remove from windscreen too.

I was after one for my push bike this is for the iPhone4 but the case looks too small? (Width of the G300 is larger)

I checked the dimensions here: http://www.ADVERT LINK REMOVED.com/phones/Huawei-Ascend-G300_id6991

I've been using the cheap'n'cheerful Uni Bike holder from Avantree with my Huawie G300 for about a month on daily use and hasn't failed me yet. I've also used it with my old HTC HD2 and a Samsung G SIII with zero problems. I got two at £2.99 each during 7DayShop sales and one is fitted to a thinner road bike (Btwin 2011) and the other to a chunkier cross bike (Bad Boy v7 2012) and no problems with either :)

The plastic does feel like it will snap in time or the mechanism inside will fail, but at that price, just buy two and keep one as spare when needed. Saying that, it's been fine, rain or shine... and it's been a lot of rain and shine in London these days ;)

Amazon and 7DayShop both have been selling this item for a while, which is why I guess it keeps goin on and off with sales :)

Thanks good to here your feedback and suggestion. I quite like the idea of a nylon bag with zip and see through cover with cord attachment to the bike like the one in the ebay link.

Pic 4 supersized shows the construction

True, not great if you want to actually use your phone every now and then... traffic light stops etc... so if the weather is bad, I tightly wrap the G300 (or whatever phone) into clear plastic bag and still keep it on the Uni Bike holder. The bag is easy to keep tucked where ever (on the bike) and ultra cheap... with many other uses too if ever needed ;)

True I have a pair of Sony Bluetooth headphones I wear -riding off road and can listen to podcasts / music and answer calls (like in a car) just using the headset. So it covers me but Google Nav for road use might be an option as the voice naviagation via headphones might be ok.

Wonder if any of the WiFi chat programs would work with a headset on the road for WiFi chat amongst a group of bikes, they would need to support the controls on BT headsets.... Hmm..

You do realise that item (on eBay) is located in China

That's about 3-4 week wait for the item and it's also a bag with a clear window. The phone will fit, but I personally would not want it to be loose, as you won't be able to see the screen so well, while cycling that's a pain and if you ever upgrade your phone to something a little large, the bag is useless. ...Just saying :) ...and each to their own ;)

I tried doing that for years with various Bluetooth headsets and random open talk/mic apps, but never did work great and on the road with noise, never did work well. Look into motorcycling gear, that worked for us and went the walk talkie route. Cost us about £70 for two earpiece sets and the battery lasts about a month before needing to be charged again... which is great as it will last long treks and you won't be using the battery or resources on your phone at all :)

Not perfect, but better than what's available for phones, until 'someone' takes cycling and phone accessories more seriously! <_<

In London... that's never going to happen, especially as oil driven crap is profitable, despite destroying our planet! :angry2:

Thanks I had noticed, I've got some work to do on my bike until then (new locks etc) so 4 wks should roll by, also ordered some water bottle holders etc so I've no problem waiting. It took 3 weeks for my G300 silicone case to arrive! But it was a lot cheaper than UK suppliers.

Hi everyone.

After talking to a Brodit Specialist and resseller (Dsl Developments where I've purchased quite a few Brodit products in the past and recommend to all) and following their advice, I ordered the Brodit Samsung Galaxy S2/3 support. It has the 511258 Product Code. Because this is an adjustable support (It holds Galaxy's S2 and S3 with back cover/skins) it makes an absolutely tight and perfect support for the Ascend G300 as well.

I've been using it for a week now and confirm it is just perfect as if it was made specifically for this Huawey.

Personally I believe with it will be a support I'll keep for quite a while as it adjust to other phones with this size of display.

Later on today I'll post some pictures of it installed!

Cheers!
