Guest Davidoff59 Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 tried that, just showed waiting for device. Or do you mean flash it via cwm without wiping anything?
Guest Davidoff59 Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 Can the boot img be renamed to. zip as it doesn't show up In cwm otherwise.
Guest Davidoff59 Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 Renaming the boot.img to boot.zip wont work as it errors out in cwm. So I can go no further for now.
Guest Frankish Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 You can't just rename it. It needs to be in a zip file with an updater script with the correct command to flash from cwm.
Guest Davidoff59 Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 I was just trying different things to try and help the build process. With no adb device detected, I hit a dead end. Any suggestions on how it can be flashed Frankish with no adb.

Guest Davidoff59 Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 Nope, adb. Has my mind gone blank and I need to go into bootloader mode and fastboot the img from there?
Guest razzmataz1478 Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 Nope, adb. Has my mind gone blank and I need to go into bootloader mode and fastboot the img from there? Ermmm. Bootloader: fastboot devices fastboot flash boot boot.img fastboot reboot
Guest Davidoff59 Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 (edited) Still doesnt appear to boot. fastboot flashed the old boot.img and stuck on huawei logo again. I will try one more time. Edit, still no boot and no adb devices detected. Adb shell rild returns error device not found. Edited June 9, 2012 by Davidoff59
Guest Jekle Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 Just a suggestion. What about compiling CM7. Should be easier as the huawei binaries (libs) should be directly compatible.

Guest Jekle Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 (edited) I'm not using it as an excuse for the problems for CM9 but as just as something to play with. Edited June 9, 2012 by Jekle
Guest FlatPackPete Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 I've seen plenty of "Hold your hand" scripts on XDA that will compile CM7 will little input needed but my laptop is so slow it would probably take a week!
Guest Pondlife Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 But where's the fun in that? ;) Well it would still beat what we have for now.

Those scripts etc need to be for the G300. Compiling isn't hard. Its just someone with the know how to get things working like tiall. *hint hint*

Guest FlatPackPete Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 Well as one of the testers I do feel that were not that far away from a working build. We are probably a little while off having a daily driver (if you have followed any other CM9 ports you will know there's always issues with things like the camera) but I really do think that if he wasn't doing his exams and did not rely on other people (including noobs like me) for feedback then we would be moaning about cut the rope not loading by now :) Here's an idea: dig back through the thread, there was someone else who tried to get CM9 as well. You could ask them as I don't think they carried on with their project.
Guest Pondlife Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 I'm definitely not complaining what Tilal is doing without the phone seems astonishing to me, and am used to his work from Coldfusion X on the blade. Was just agreeing that CM7 is pretty damn good and nicer than the current roms although a bit old hat for developers probably.
Guest tilal6991 Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 I'all look into cm7. Certainly will be much easier.

Everything is current in terms of app support. And would be a good option. Our device already uses gingerbread.
Guest Frankish Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 Cm7 would almost definitely be 100% stable straight away which is what entices me. CM9 once actually booting properly will still be far off in terms of stableness as it's still all quite new and tilal is only one person! Suppose i'm just registering my interest in CM7 with this post :D
Guest FrankieADZ Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 have to agree, just having a CM ROM would certainly please alot of people...including me  :)
