Guest Ganster Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 any progress with youtube hq , can we watch youtube hq Some day in the future  I already get it worked, but brake camcorder(hardware encoder trying to working too, but have some errors). It crashes with gralloc errors, when trying to play embedded html5 video from browser in not fullscreen mode(I think its old kernel mmap issue), but youtube, and other players works ok :) May be I temporary disable hardware encoder, and upload rom later...
Guest Ganster Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 If anyone interesting to try my build with broken camcorder, y can download it here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/17255325/Android/cm-9-20121024-GansterKANG-blade.zip
Guest judas1977 Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 So it can play YT in HQ? could you do similar build of CM10? or it is not compatible?
Guest Ganster Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 For now its not compatible with JB. May be I or anyone else will made port later, but now laggy and buggy CM10 don't interested for me.
Guest reedo_17 Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 If anyone interesting to try my build with broken camcorder, y can download it here: https://dl.dropbox.c...rKANG-blade.zip Can anyone confirm Youtube HQ working?
Guest gbosh Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 How did you get Youtube hq working, did you write a wrapper, to make the GB OMX work, or did you somehow override it somehow ?
Guest Loren82 Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 Yes, I just installed, youtube works perfectly in HQ Can anyone confirm Youtube HQ working? Yes, I just installed, youtube works perfectly in HQ
Guest Loren82 Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 Ganster, I think the best thing is to speak, you and KonstaT, this can be a big step!
Guest judas1977 Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 @gangster. I just flashed your build. Bootanimation "flashes" rapidly, is that supposed to be that way?
Guest tilal6991 Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 How did you manage to get it working? Any sources?
Guest Loren82 Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 How did you manage to get it working? Any sources? Tilal can this be?, sorry Ganster, is that your progress is great! https://github.com/omxcodec/stagefright-plugins/commits/master
Guest tilal6991 Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 Tilal can this be?, sorry Ganster, is that your progress is great! https://github.com/o.../commits/master I have no idea. He will need to answer.
Guest Mettafox Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 Tilal, give your best to understand what was done. We all hope that this is not a dream and was found a way to solve the Hardware Acceleration problems.
Guest raizor6th Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 maybe konsaT can do that but he doesn't want to break the camcorder so, I'm just thinking about that. or else he would need those idea of gangster.
Guest Ganster Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 I will publish sources later. For now it views as ugly hack :) How? Disable calling unimplemented functions, force to use software renderer, and some magic with it, for fixing stupid align of buffer in our libs. I can fix camcorder in software mode, as it implemented in other CM9 builds, but I want to try fix using hardware encoder too...
Guest KonstaT Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 At last hardware acceleration working. There will be a decent CM10 very soon. HURRAY!!!! :) :) :) We all hope that this is not a dream and was found a way to solve the Hardware Acceleration problems. *sigh* hardware acceleration != hardware decoding hardware decoding != software decoding Software decoder seems to work better. It doesn't remove the original problem that we don't have/utilize OMX libs for hardware decoding. I will publish sources later. I had a quick test and YouTube HQ seems to playback fine. YouTube LQ on the other hand is now broken. I also still couldn't play 'HQ' (640x480) videos via gallery. Camcorder doesn't save files. It's a good start, well done Ganster. Waiting to see that source. :)
Guest Ganster Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 Gallery doesn't play videos anyway. It only shows video thumbnail, and by clicking it video opens in video player. Video player works OK, but getting thubnails was broken for now :) YouTube LQ works fine too, but it doesn't want play after switching mode. I think I broke it in this build, because it works fine one build ago...
Guest k1r8l Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 Can somebody who has tried this ROM and KontaT’s CM10 please tell me the difference? I am mainly concerned about speed, battery life and smoothness. Thanks
Guest gbosh Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 (edited) Can you do it Tor for the crescent, too Or publish the sources? Edited October 26, 2012 by gbosh
Guest Ganster Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 Not now. Sources need to be rewrited before publish) Now I try to quick port 3.x kernel to Blade, and compare gralloc's work with it. Because on our 2.6 kernel I get unknown mmap eerors sometimes.
Guest W0jt1 Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 youtube hq woohoo this is small step for androids, but big step for blade
Guest Shadow_PT Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 (edited) Ganster you're our salvation!! hehehe Edited October 26, 2012 by Shadow_PT
