Guest jambaz Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 I'm afraid that despite reading through the various guides I am still very confused as to how to go from my new out the box Viva-city (zte crescent) to CM9, ideally being SIM unlocked. Speaking to a few friends that have said that I need to root my device before I even work my way through the guide. Is this correct? From what I have read so far, I thought that I would need to: 1) sim unlock - http://www.modaco.com/topic/353098-my-howto-on-getting-started-on-the-crescent/ 2) Install clockwork recovery and re-partition the internal memory - http://www.modaco.com/topic/349795-san-francisco-iit-mobile-vivacity-tpts/ 3) install CM9 Am I making this more complicated than it should be? Guest misodoctakleidist Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 (edited) Your friends are wrong. Your phone doesn't need to be rooted to flash a new recovery or unlock it. Specs: http://www.theverge.com/products/blade-ii/5277#product-specs And if so, what files should it go after. OSFII or Vivacity?
Guest BLu3HaZe Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 Neither, Crescent is a different phone to yours, do NOT try, you'd MOST probably end up bricking your brand new Blade II. Afraid you'll have to wait until someone posts something for your handset. Nothing so far afaik.
