Guest nbrasso Posted July 20, 2012 Report Posted July 20, 2012 I don't know if its of any help, but I was using Clockworkmod v4 and the buttons were working http://www.modaco.com/topic/348988-recovery-clockworkmod-recovery-for-zte-blade-2/ All your hard work for us Vivacity users is appreciated :)
Guest Dazzozo Posted July 20, 2012 Report Posted July 20, 2012 Wait, was it v4 that had them working or v5.0.2.7? Or both?
Guest nbrasso Posted July 20, 2012 Report Posted July 20, 2012 (edited) Wait, was it v4 that had them working or v5.0.2.7? Or both? I haven't tried v5.0.2.7 however they were certainly working with v4 :) Would you like me to try v5? Edited July 20, 2012 by nbrasso
Guest b4da55 Posted July 20, 2012 Report Posted July 20, 2012 I am on tmv with cwm based 5.0.2.7 and all buttons work
Guest Dazzozo Posted July 20, 2012 Report Posted July 20, 2012 So which one was it that didn't work? I swear there was a build of recovery that didn't have the buttons working...
Guest nbrasso Posted July 20, 2012 Report Posted July 20, 2012 (edited) Same here, just tried 5.0.2.7 and all buttons working. Was it 5.5 that didn't work? I could try that version to :) Edited July 20, 2012 by nbrasso
Guest Dazzozo Posted July 20, 2012 Report Posted July 20, 2012 It was one of the original two. At least that's what fr0do said...
Guest Dazzozo Posted July 20, 2012 Report Posted July 20, 2012 Hang on a sec... do the touch buttons work in the touch recovery build?
Guest nbrasso Posted July 20, 2012 Report Posted July 20, 2012 They do work, but they do not function in the same way, the menu and home button function the same as the volume keys.
Guest CurtisAndroidSF2 Posted August 16, 2012 Report Posted August 16, 2012 Hello, I'll be restoring my phone to FTM so I can unlock it then I'll be reflashing Clockworkmod, I'm currently running 5.0.2.7 so I'm wondering whether the back-up format is the same on 6.0.0.8 as I have a few backups I'd like to have access to still. And secondly, am I right in thinking that if I renamed this image file to 'clockrecovery' and dropped it in the OSFII folder I got from one of the guides to replace the old recovery image in the folder then ran the windows batch file that it would flash fine without problems? Thanks
Guest chris231 Posted August 16, 2012 Report Posted August 16, 2012 If your not bothered about the stock ROM setup, you could flash a TPT. These contain cwm recovery. Or follow a guide i did here http://www.modaco.com/topic/356607-wont-go-into-clockwork-recovery/#entry2006433 To fastboot over a recovery of your choosing.

Guest Mekail Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 (edited) I know the two phones are different, but still worth mentioning, its not working for ZTE BladeII (Sweden), or something got wrong with my phone, not loading any CWM version now. Edited December 29, 2012 by Mekail

Guest Typhus_ Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 Just tried this recovery today... Unfortunately I had to go back to flibblesan's 5.0.2.7 Recovery since the original issue remains..."no touchy buttons" on my model (P736E). Sad.
Guest momist Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Hi Chris, I have problems with Windows as well (don't like it, don't use it much). I have never seen any info on using Linux to flash these phones, and have lost my CWM entirely somehow. The SD has an empty folder called clockworkmod, and access just goes to FTM. Could you post a guide for me on using Linux? Thanks!
Guest momist Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Can a Vivacity user test this: http://crescent.theb...ivacitytest.img Edit: apparently Vivacity users no longer exist :P Yes they do! Trouble is they are all shy and clueless like me (or they wouldn't have bought a lemon).
Guest De@n Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Yes they do! Trouble is they are all shy and clueless like me (or they wouldn't have bought a lemon).
Guest surfungus Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Hi momist, http://sanfranciscoandroid.co.uk/android/how-to-install-clockworkmod-recovery-on-the-orange-san-francisco-ii-zte-crescent/ , down the bottom, instructions for linux. It's for the SF2 but I imagine the commands would be the same (maybe someone who knows what they're doing can confirm this before you try :P )
Guest momist Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 (edited) Thanks surfungus! So, the shell script says : chmod +x adb-linux chmod +x fastboot-linux ./adb-linux reboot bootloader ./fastboot-linux flash recovery clockrecovery.img ./fastboot-linux reboot and there is adb-linux and fastboot-linux in the zip file. If I use those and and substitute an image of recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.7-blade2.img, I might get somewhere. I'll not hold my breath on that though, unless it's my windows drivers have changed I can't see it being more successful than before. I'll let you know. EDIT: No, it only ever says: "< waiting for device >" and hangs there for ever. :-( Edited February 12, 2013 by momist
Guest surfungus Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 ok plan d... maybe have a read through this.http://www.modaco.com/topic/354290-how-tosave-your-dead-vivacity/
Guest momist Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 OK, I've sorted it! Following the guide here (in WindowsXP!): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1608042&page=1 I came to the command su and got the response permission denied Well, the penny dropped then. I am running CyanogenMod9 IceCreamSandwich. Under Settings: Developer options: there is an entry "Root access". This was set to "Apps only" and that was the cause of my problems. I didn't have su rights to the system. Simply changed in there and suddenly everything works. Maybe this feature was added in ICS, and wasn't there in Gingerbread? Could be the reason others using CM9 have been having trouble.
Guest surfungus Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 Nice one! Guess its easy when you know :D
Guest momist Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 Sorry, I should have asked this last night. Do we still need a Vivacity test for 6.0.0.8? I can try it after I've finished swapping ROMs etc, maybe tomorrow? Otherwise I'm happy with 5.0.2.7 now I've sussed the soft keys.
