Guest toge64 Posted August 17, 2012 Report Posted August 17, 2012 thanks, will do a nandroid and give this a go :)
Guest Cyda Posted August 17, 2012 Report Posted August 17, 2012 (edited) Changelog (google translate): C8812/U8818, overclocking kernel to support the performance mode [Additional Settings], revised version of fast boot BUG This part grabbed my attention so I flashed the boot.img to have a look and it does indeed have a new overclocking kernel compiled by Geno. The interesting part is that bluetooth and the camera work fine, flash included. Looks like we have our first first fully working overclock kernel and it almost sneaked past. Here is just the boot.img from those who want it. I used it with Infusion and it works well. http://www.multiuplo...o.uk/UT9XXBKNB9 Edit: cwm flashable zip: http://www.multiuplo...o.uk/U62L213PJD File: update-kernel-geno.zip MD5: 7d3702977e9cbf028192e56afbbfd9f4 SHA-1: 20cff92d352f06e67ca6ba53d2666aca7cbb04c Edited August 17, 2012 by Cyda

Guest Cyda Posted August 17, 2012 Report Posted August 17, 2012 Thanks - I was expecting an update.zip - what do I do with boot.img? Sorry, I just used fastboot. Make sure USB debug is enabled. Power off, boot in to fastboot (vol. down and power on), then connect USB cable. Open cmd console, cd to where you have the boot.img and: fastboot flash boot boot.img
Guest wrtease Posted August 17, 2012 Report Posted August 17, 2012 (edited) he is some screen shots Edited August 17, 2012 by wrtease

Oh I assume recovering a nandroid backup will remove the the kernel and other changes? Edited August 17, 2012 by Rico_89

But I am not pushing anyone in to flashing this - just providing it for those interested.
Guest toge64 Posted August 17, 2012 Report Posted August 17, 2012 geno you sly devil!!!!! he probably saw what omegamoon was doing and decided to have a crack at it himself.
Guest wrtease Posted August 17, 2012 Report Posted August 17, 2012 am just testing the rom out and seems okay apart from an od force close .
Guest emu123 Posted August 17, 2012 Report Posted August 17, 2012 how do you get the play store on this?
Guest maritimesbob Posted August 17, 2012 Report Posted August 17, 2012 Run smoother than the previous MIUI release?

However the responsibility always starts and stops with the person pressing the buttons and not with those that just present the information. ;) Thanks for the info. Edited August 17, 2012 by Rico_89

Just for you dood, a cwm flashable zip I've tested it here but forgive me if your phone implodes. Make a nandroid of course. :) update-kernel-geno.zip (3.15 MB) http://www.multiuplo...o.uk/U62L213PJD Edited August 17, 2012 by Cyda

Guest Potatoes Posted August 17, 2012 Report Posted August 17, 2012 Nice, thanks for the boot.img Cyda, got it working here too, though not yet played around with it. Thanks - I was expecting an update.zip - what do I do with boot.img? What I did was to replace the boot.img in omegamoon's zip with this one and flash it as normal

Guest Cyda Posted August 17, 2012 Report Posted August 17, 2012 (edited) Here are a couple more benchmarks using the overclock kernel. Please note: this is using the geno overclock kernel only, not the miui rom itself (the rom used was infusion). The clockspeed was 1.26ghz. Edited August 17, 2012 by Cyda
