Guest andy.hyde4 Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Any particular rom you have to be on to install this?
Guest rsrocha Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) Vendor. app size doesn't matter as it just installs stuff that is already in the Rom but not yet installed. Nope, it creates the /cust folder where the animation and other xml files are. The notification toggles are also part of the vendor update when applied. You should see one of my posts where i uploaded a zip file with the contents of the /cust folder. There you can see what it makes. Edited July 15, 2012 by rsrocha
Guest tillaz Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 think this is the leaked uk update, since all the gapps are included... what happens when you enable force GPU rendering from developer settings then open the news & weather app and press on the weather box?
Guest Davidoff59 Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Cust file is installed along with the Rom itself I thought. Oh well. how does it run compared to the Chinese version jiko?
Guest Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) Just going to do the vendor file too, @tillaz, I will try that in a moment, @Davidoff, yeah seems ok to me, fairly smooth. Ok the vendor file changes bootanimation for a start, looks like the one from quad D Edited July 15, 2012 by Guest
Guest andy.hyde4 Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Can I upgrade to this from the Chinese official?
Guest Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) Yeah got notification toggles, bit of an improvement on the gingerbread ones I guess. Edited July 15, 2012 by Guest
Guest rsrocha Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) Yeah got notification toggles See? I told you... Can you check what set of languages you have after flashing the vendor update? Edited July 15, 2012 by rsrocha
Guest Dazzozo Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Can I upgrade to this from the Chinese official? Try? The worst that can happen is it says "no".
Guest Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Tillaz, I done as you said, but news and weather working fine ?
Guest andy.hyde4 Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 I will try tomorrow when I get home don't want to wipe all data whilst out bit of a pain
Guest Davidoff59 Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 it force closes on Chinese ics with force gpu rendering that's why tillaz asked. so no point changing really if its not much different as I have Chinese ics all set up now.
Guest rsrocha Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Have you checked the set of languages available with the vendor update? The last thing we need to know is why they call it a demo. Test version? Does everything work?
Guest tillaz Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Tillaz, I done as you said, but news and weather working fine ? it never force closed for you when you pressed on the weather result ???? i cant even download it... saying server error
Guest Davidoff59 Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 force closed on me, what did it do for you. Remember you saying something about logcat results
Guest Andymac1969 Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 @ Jikobutsu, how did you install this? I have been through the settings> software> update, but the pink bar gets 1/3 way across then just stops Andrew
Guest tillaz Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 force closed on me, what did it do for you. Remember you saying something about logcat results yeah, force closed, i'm asking if it never for him (above)
Guest Dazzozo Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Don't even start with logcat. Huawei disable logging on the kernel level so we don't have logcat until the 3.0 kernel drop and it is patched.
Guest Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 (edited) yeah, force closed, i'm asking if it never for him (above) Yep that is exactly what happens here  huawei are so lame man. @rsrocha, plenty of languages there, including yours :) and yes everything is working. @andymac1969, should work, maybe the download was corrupt, it does take some time to update though, how long did you leave it? Test version? Does everything work? Although I'm no expert at all, I wonder if on this specific device (G300) being so far a Vodafone Exclusive, I was wondering if being a "Demo" means a clean ICS Rom so that Vodafone can take it and inject all extras  they usually release on the Branded Rom's... Cheers everyone!
Guest unaszplodrmann Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 Mmm, starting to wonder whether I should've ordered one afterall. Lack of HW acceleration is a turn off, for sure. I guess Huawei have been too busy making superfluous UI 'enhancements', whilst trying to avoid distractions like overall performance.

Huawei disable logging on the kernel level so we don't have logcat until the 3.0 kernel drop and it is patched. lol, i have logcat working on ics... how else would i have been reading them you just need to enable it via the secret menu, best to use full stock rom with nothing removed *#*#2846579#*#* once its enabled its enabled even after switching roms
Guest rsrocha Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 Yep that is exactly what happens here  huawei are so lame man. @rsrocha, plenty of languages there, including yours :) Oh man thanks! In the morning i will go ahead with this one. Hey hey, its christmas in July!
