Vendor. app size doesn't matter as it just installs stuff that is already in the Rom but not yet installed.

Nope, it creates the /cust folder where the animation and other xml files are. The notification toggles are also part of the vendor update when applied.

You should see one of my posts where i uploaded a zip file with the contents of the /cust folder. There you can see what it makes.

think this is the leaked uk update, since all the gapps are included...

what happens when you enable force GPU rendering from developer settings

then open the news & weather app and press on the weather box?

Cust file is installed along with the Rom itself I thought. Oh well. how does it run compared to the Chinese version jiko?

Just going to do the vendor file too,

@tillaz, I will try that in a moment,

@Davidoff, yeah seems ok to me, fairly smooth.

Ok the vendor file changes bootanimation for a start, looks like the one from quad D

it force closes on Chinese ics with force gpu rendering that's why tillaz asked. so no point changing really if its not much different as I have Chinese ics all set up now.

Have you checked the set of languages available with the vendor update?

The last thing we need to know is why they call it a demo. Test version? Does everything work?

@ Jikobutsu, how did you install this? I have been through the settings> software> update, but the pink bar gets 1/3 way across then just stops

Don't even start with logcat. Huawei disable logging on the kernel level so we don't have logcat until the 3.0 kernel drop and it is patched.

Yep that is exactly what happens here  huawei are so lame man.

@rsrocha, plenty of languages there, including yours :) and yes everything is working.

@andymac1969, should work, maybe the download was corrupt, it does take some time to update though, how long did you leave it?

Although I'm no expert at all, I wonder if on this specific device (G300) being so far a Vodafone Exclusive, I was wondering if being a "Demo" means a clean ICS Rom so that Vodafone can take it and inject all extras  they usually release on the Branded Rom's...

Cheers everyone!

Mmm, starting to wonder whether I should've ordered one afterall. Lack of HW acceleration is a turn off, for sure. I guess Huawei have been too busy making superfluous UI 'enhancements', whilst trying to avoid distractions like overall performance.

lol, i have logcat working on ics... how else would i have been reading them

you just need to enable it via the secret menu, best to use full stock rom with nothing removed

*#*#2846579#*#*

once its enabled its enabled even after switching roms
