I just had an idea, what if we could make a "virtual machine" for android that would run android 2.3 in 4.0/4.1 so we could play videos in hq and do stuff we can't on android 4.0/4.1? Im asking the devs, is it hard?

Almost impossible, and even if you managed to code a VM that would run on android, performance would be abysmal, and since HW accelerated video isn't available to the host, it wont work in the VM either.

That might just be the most insane idea I have ever heard. If you've tried running a VM on even a decent machine you'll know what I mean.

No current plans to make TPTs. 160mb system has been the "standard" TPT for custom ROMs for quite a while. There's both gen1 and gen2 versions available at Amphoras' site.

Ok, thanks! ;)

No, working fine here.

I also re-TPT'd from 210 to 160 system partition.

I can't see the Google Ears (Google Sound Search) widget since installing 1509, though.

Thanks for the info.

Shoot, any idea what could be wrong ? Sms / calendar and all notifications are just silent :L

...

your system partition is too small, 160MB minimum with small gapps

No idea, sorry.

Have you tried changing the ringtones and notifications or is it the default ones that are silent?

If I were you, I would just start from scratch again, making sure to wipe everything clean before installing the ROM.

If your phone was originally a Gen 1, you should have used this one to get the 160Mb partition:

my phone was gen 1 before then used a tpt that made it gen2 wid default partition, yesterday gunnerz bro gave me that tpt . now my ph is gen2 so which tpt do i need to use ?

You still must use the gen 1 to gen 2 TPT's

The gen 2 TPT's are for actual Gen 2 phones or phones converted to gen2 using the Windows converter.

Yes I've tried everything, notification sounds never play when choosing them from system settings nor when setting the notification volume.

I've installed the rom correctly, I'll try redo this again.

I have no notifications of SMS, mail, calendar appointments :|

PS: The rom is really awesome. Android is finally getting into a good shape. Battery on use goes down faster by about 30% but I can live with that.

I noticed the silence too when first installed this rom, but then discovered the notification sound for each app (calendar, messaging, gmail/email..) could be set individually in their preferences. For some reason they all defaulted to "silent". Hope you'll get it sorted out!

Thanks for the info, where do you see such settings ?

I had trouble with my alarms being silent but i fiddled about with various things and then they worked. But I'm not quite sure what i did! it's probably a similar issue.

I have the same problem with the notification sounds. And even with the volume set to max on the settings they still play very low... sometimes they play like they should but everytime you use the volume buttons they go crazy.

And will it be possible for DSP settings to have effect on the ringtone? Because back on GB it was a good way to reduce noise when the volume was set to max.

EDIT: If you set silent mode to vibrate, and then change go change the volume with the toggle on the notification bar the volume goes back like it should, but I don't know if it will last.

As for the notification sounds - I had to disable the touch sound to be able to hear it. Probably a bug - never had such problem on other ROMs.

Yeah, but if the machine has hardware virtualization its better, but yeah a vm sucks, but i was thinking wif we couldn't optimize the android that would run on the vm only for the things we can't do on 4.0 like video.

Hello everyone, firstly go easy on me, been away since April and trying to figure out how to install CyanogenMod 10 - KonstaKANG (Android 4.1.1), firstly i have the oled screen, had the phone from day one when they went on sale. I upgraded from gen 1 to gen 2 about 1yr and a half ago, and installed a few roms but my phone is on Swedish Snow RLS7 atm. I installed - ClockWorkMod 6.0.1.2, then downloaded CyanogenMod 10 - KonstaKANG (Android 4.1.1) with the gapps jb-20120815-KonstaKANG.zip. i done a backup of my rom and then tried to install CyanogenMod 10, everything seems to have gone ok in clockwork but the rom just stays on the spinning CyanogenMod bootup screen, and doesn't seem to go any further. can someone tell me what might be the problem, just don't want to trawl through thousands of posts to find an answer, i have tried typing in search box but got no answer. any help greatly appreciated.
