Guest razzmataz1478 Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 Are there any lines that check build.prop ?
Guest utternoob Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 (edited) Yeah, but I think the problem was punctuation in the UI_print section, as there were spaces between speechmarks and what I wanted to say Edit: The script was checking for things in the build.prop that didn't exist. Thanks guys :) Still getting error, a bit stuck now :( Edited July 19, 2012 by utternoob
Guest utternoob Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 Going to upload the ace script and skate script so far Ace: http://db.tt/fkSkIwUE Skate: http://db.tt/D5Ha1nMc
Guest utternoob Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 Got it installing, but doesn't boot. Think kernel is problem, and now can't unpack ramdisk for either ace or skate
Guest utternoob Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 Completely stumped. Can someone change the init.rc files please? Skate kernel: http://db.tt/EKxbcRH1 Ace kernel: http://db.tt/03p0fREk
Guest C3C0 Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 You don't need to. Yesterday we saw that the bootclasspath is OK. So no need to change anything else. Just use existing boot.img of your source rom.
Guest utternoob Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 Tried that, all it does is sit on android man. Heard of roms taking ages to boot, but mine seemed ridiculous. Could it be that the rom I'm porting is odexed? Think it maybe as it was based on stock rom
Guest C3C0 Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 (edited) Makes no difference if odexed/deodexed. No logcat at all? Run it via adb on boot. It will tell you where it loops. Edited July 19, 2012 by C3C0
Guest utternoob Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 No, can't get to computer. Shall I upload to help?
Guest utternoob Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 Not to worry. Perhaps I should let it boot for a bit longer next time
Guest C3C0 Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 As I said. The best way is to be hooked on logcat while it boots so you can see what's going on inside.
Guest Mtman1 Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 Could you tell us what Rom you are porting and which Rom you are using as base?
Guest utternoob Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 (edited) Uploading now. Using C3CO CM7 11/7 as base and WP7 themed stock based rom for ace: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1458227&page=1 This is it so far: http://db.tt/oxTwOcuO Edited July 19, 2012 by utternoob
Guest utternoob Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 Oh. Does it need stock rom? Or skatie, atomic etc?
Guest razzmataz1478 Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 I don't think it matters. Just use the earliest version i.e. the one with the least tweeks
Guest razzmataz1478 Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 Another problem. All the graphics will be mashed up because I believe the Ace is 480x360 resolution. So framework will need resizing
Guest Mtman1 Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 Another problem. All the graphics will be mashed up because I believe the Ace is 480x360 resolution. So framework will need resizing Yep it is. Frameworks definitely needs resizing
Guest utternoob Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 Oh dear. Can't do that from my phone can I?
Guest utternoob Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 Mostly works, just need to scale framework and system ui for it to work fully, as doesn't get past skatie screen, despite sitting for around 5 minutes
